Dev is lying on the bed looking at the celling engaging himself with some thoughts.He heard sound of the door as it open with sound of bangles and anklet , which means that his wife is too in the room,but still he doesn't bother to look at her.
"Kya hua?"asked Ananya looking at him .This is first time in whole day ,he is looking serious.
"nhi kuch nhi"He said arranging himself and pillow , giving some space to Ananya to sleep.
She looks at him not satisfied with his answer but can't ask again .So switching off the lights ,she come towards the bed and lie beside him turning her back toward him.
"ANU"He speaks after a minute while she opens her eyes wide hearing Anu."Soo gyi ho kya?"He asked as he doesn't get any reply while her heart starts racing fast.Is he become comfortable with her in just one day?
She holds bedsheet tightly since she can feel his movement as he turn toward her coming closer such that his chest is just an inch away from her back.
"Sirf baat karni hai"He said looking at her scared figure.He came closer to her just to look that she is sleeping or not.
She takes a deep breath and turn toward him slowly but gets freezed at her position .His face is very close to her ,so that she can feel his breathing.She looks away controlling her nervousness.
"tumhe pta hai"He said going back to his earlier position understanding her nervousness ."kal raat tak mai bahut nervous tha."He said looking at celing.
Ananya(in mind)-"Dikh raha tha"
"Lag raha tha ki pta nhi tumhe meri kaun si aadat buri lage kaun si achhi lage.Khud me bahut conscious feel kar raha tha"He said calmly and pause for some seconds while Ananya waited for him to continue.
"But aaj subah maine socha ki jab hume sari zindagi saath bitani hai to phir ek dusre se apni kamiya kyu chhupaye."He said turning toward her."Aur kab tak chhupayenge? Hum Humsafar to tab banege jab hum ek dusre ki khoobi ke saath kamiyo ko jante hue bhi ,ek dusre ka saath nibhaye .Ek dusre se apne dil ki har baat keh paye bina ye soche ki wo humare bare me kya sochega ya sochegi.Aur hum ek dusre ki har baat sune bina ek dusre ko judge kiye .Ye tabhi ho payea jab hum ek dusre ke saath freely baate kar sake, ek dost ki tarah."He looks at her as he paused for some seconds and then continue "Mai janta hu, ek anjaan insaan ke saath ek kamre me rehna ,achanak se ek anjaan pariwar ko apna manna mushkil hai aur ye ek din me to bilkul bhi nhi hoga .Ye swikarne me waqt lagega ki ye room tumhara hai"He said looking around."ye Ghar tumhara hai,ye pariwar tumhara hai aur "He looks at her as moonlight is illuminating their room."Aur MAI TUMHARA HU"
She looks at him as he keep looking at her as if he is reading her mind through her eyes.She doesn't know why but despite of the loving family,she can't feel herself as a part of this family.A unknown fear has made place in her mind.Tears starts forming in her eyes and she looks down to hide it but it is too late .He already noticed her tears.
"Kya baat hai Ana"He asked gently as his voice reflect care .
She can't speaks but tears starts flowing down on cheeks.From her childhood she was scolded for being herself .She was told that noone would want a girl like her to be his wife ,noone will want her to be their daughter in law.Those continuous words have occupied little space in her subconscious mind and action of Ray has proved it right.
It was not like, she loves Ray but still she had started to convince herself that she has to spent her whole life with him.But when he eloped ,it gave her a sense of dejection.
So when she gets married to Dev ,her heart gets surrounded by fear of being dejected.What if some of her habits will disappoint Dev and his family?what if he too get fed up from her and leave her just like Ray.
With their each meeting ,Ray was too much cheesy while talking with her .She still doesn't know that what make him elope and if he doesn't want to marry her than why he talked like that.
"Anu"He again call her name as she keep crying."Sorry agar mere baat se tum hurt hui ho to"He said worriedly looking at her , thinking that what he said which make her cry like that.
"Mai tumhari wajah se nhi ro rahi hu"She said wiping her tears thinking that it is really stupid to cry after hearing his sweet words.
"To kyu ro rhi ho?"He asked.
"Nothing"She said taking deep breath as she feels lighter after crying her heart out."Bahut sari baato ke liye ek saath rona aa gya"She said sitting up.
"To Mrs.Ananya Dev Joshi ,mujhse Dosti karogi"He asked forwarding his hand toward her ,while sitting up.She looks at him and then at his hand .She shake his hand with smile.
"Waise kaafi achcha progress hai.Kal introduction hua aur aaj friendship."He said dramatically.
"Friendship ki start karne se pehle ,I want to confess something"said Ananya looking at him sheepishly.
Dev-"Kya?"
"wo... mai ..mai ...."She said looking here and there "Mujhe late se uthne ki aadat hai"She said hurriedly and lie down covering her face with the blanket.
Dev looks at Ananya for some second and smiles lying beside her.
In morning
Ananya's sleep gets disturbed by continuous ringing of her phone.She opens her eyes lazily and looks at the phone , thinking that she has to get up to pick up the call.Meanwhile Dev enter in the room, just after taking bath and look at Ananya who is looking at her phone lying on the bed unaware of his pressence while phone is continuously ringing .
He moved toward the dressing table shaking her head .Ananya gasped as he suddenly come in front of her .He pick up the phone and forward it toward Ananya.
She smiles sheepishly and sits up taking the call.
"Jai hind sir " She speaks in officer tone making Dev turn back as he paused combing his hair.
"Aaj?...no sir...ok sir ......Jai hind sir"She cut the call, looking at the phone in tension .
"Kya hua?"asked Dev looking at frown on her forehead.
"Mujhe immediately duty join karni paregi.Aaj hi"She said looking at him.
"Lucknow me"He said shockingly.
"Nhi, Mumbai me."She said standing up."Actually Mumbai aane se pehle hi maine leave ke saath Transfer ke liye apply Kiya tha .So mera transfer to accept ho gya hai but suddenly leave cancel jo gya"She said thinking that what everyone will think as she is going for work just after two days of her marriage.
"Ha ,to thik hai na .Mai bhi soch raha tha School join karne ki ."He said Casually."Tumhari wardi kaha hai"He asked thinking that it was not present in her suitcase.
She drags suitcase from the corner and open it .It was empty.But next she open the base of the suitcase revealing her uniform which is kept there .
"Wow"He said taking the uniform in his hand."Tum isse smuggling kar ke kyu layi ho?"He asked chucking .
"Sab ne kaha tha ki Shaadi ke baad mai ye duty nhi kar sakti to isliye maine isse chhupa kar pack kiya tha"She said .She never resigned from her job despite of Ray's clear 'no' and her uncle's stern order.She was adamant that she will never quit her job ,not in any cost.
"kab Jana hai tumhe?He asked still looking at the uniform.
Ananya"9 o'clock."
Dev-"to jao, ready ho jao .Mai bhi maa ki help kar deta hu.Wo relax mode me baithi hogi .Aaj papa ko late jana hai na .Kya hua?"He asked looking at her tensed face.
"Achha lagega kya? Mai job per jaau aur maa mere liye naasta banaye"She said.
"Mast lagega.Maa bahut tasty nashta banati hai"He said smiling and leaves from there.
