Saturday morning, y/n slept in till noon. She would've stayed in bed later if she wasn't woken up by her sister."Alright get up," she said as she opened y/n's curtains wide, letting in the midday sunlight.
"Ugh, what're you on, Debs" y/n groaned and put her hands to her eyes.
"Dopamine, pure bursts of Dopamine,"she smiled."I know what it's like to have boy problems and you didn't tell me much about what happened at the party when I picked you up last night. So... We're having a girls day,"
------------------
Demetri woke up yawned. He checked his alarm clock.
"Damn 12 O'clock," Demetri scrambled to find his phone. When he found it, he frowned at his lock screen.
(y/n is Moon and Aisha isn't there)
It was a photo of Y/n, Miguel, Eli and him at the Halloween dance. "Why has my life been gone to shit," he thought to himself.
Just to think that back then, he was complaining about his life, imagine him back in October looking at his current situation. His best friend has completly changed and the only girl that he would ever want has fallen for said best friend... Great.
Then his phone started ringing, it was y/n. "Hey y/n what's up," he asked.
"Heya Dem, I just called to tell you that I probably won't be able to go to the movies with you today because-" y/n started but was cut off by Demetri.
"You have a boyfriend one day and you're already ditching me? Well I hate to tell you, but he's just gonna break your heart," he ranted.
"Boyfriend? Demetri what are you talking about?" y/n asked confusedly.
Demetri was tired of this "Come on
y/n, Hawk made a move on you and I saw the whole thing,"Now it was Y/n's turn to be angry "Well obviously not if that's what you think," she said and hung up the phone.
Demetri put his pillow over his head. Was it him? Was he the reason that everyone he loves keeps leaving him?
Then there was a knock at his door "Hey, we're all out of shampoo. Can you go down to the pharmacy and pick me up some?" his Mom asked.
"Sure," Demetri groaned. A walk would be good to clear his head.
-
When he walked through the front door of the pharmacy, he saw the last person he wanted to, Hawk. His subconscious took over and he walked straight up to the boy with the mohawk.
"You got the girl, are you happy?" Demetri asked.
Hawk turned around, visibly hungover, with a bottle of Advil in his hand. "Yeah, I am. Why do you care though?" he replied confusedly.
Demetri wondered if Hawk's mind got wiped the second the blue hair dye got applied. "Cut the crap dude, you knew I liked her,"
This made Hawk even more confused "You liked Moon?"
"Wha- no I like y/n! And I saw you go in to kiss her at the party" Demetri replied.
"Yeah I went in to kiss her but he turned away. She's head over heels for you, man" Hawk yawned.
"What? Why didn't she say anything?" Demetri said quietly.
"Probably beacause you were too busy talking to Yasmine, dude," Hawk said and then walked off to pay for his pain-killers.
"I'm such an idiot!" Demetri said before he ran out of the pharmacy, forgetting all about the shampoo.
Demetri ran all the way to y/n's house and tried to open the door, much to his dismay, it was locked. The l/n's never lock their door.
"Damn, is everyone out?" he said as he fiddled with the handle.
He sighed in defeat as he sat down with his head in his hands. He was gonna wait until she got home, no matter if it was 5 minutes or 5 hours.
------------------
Y/n and Debbie were in the car on the way home from the beach, windows down and the music blaring.
"That guy playing soccer definitely had his eye on you," Debbie laughed.
"Yeah, and he was like 10," y/n hit her sister playfully.
They smiled at each other and drank their slushies.
As they turned the corner to their house, y/n saw a familiar face sitting on the front step. It wasn't one she wanted to see right now.
"Do you think he'll go away if I don't make eye contact," y/n joked.
Debbie took her key out of the ignition and shook her head.
As y/n climbed out of the white beetle, Demetri looked up. He started walking towards her.
"Sorry, I don't talk to dickheads," she said and continued walking towards her front door.
"Ok, I deserved that... But, I-I came to apologise," Demetri said.
Y/n stopped dead in her tracks and turned to face the boy. Her sister took her bag off her and went into the house, leaving y/n and Demetri standing alone in the drive way.
"I'm listening," Y/n crossed her arms.
"I'm a complete asshole for making those assumptions," Demetri apologised.
"You can say that again," Y/n joked.
"Listen, I talked to Hawk and he told me that you didn't let him kiss you," Demetri sighed.
Y/n's face softened as she put her hands in her pockets. "Did he tell you why?"
Demetri nodded and y/n scrunched up her face in embarrassment. "Shit,"
"Listen, I know you like Yasmine and you guys looked like you were hitting it off the other night so-" y/n continued.
She was cut off by Demetri chuckling "Is your definition of 'hitting it off' her looking at me like I was scum and then walking away?"
Y/n's expression dropped, partly in hatred for Yasmine but mostly in hope.
"Ok I think it's time I stop beating around the bush... Y/n, I don't like Yasmine. Well, not anymore at least. She is horrible in every way and I was an idiot to swoon over someone like her when someone much better was right beside me all along," Demetri started.
A small smile crept onto y/n's face. She listened as Demetri continued.
"Now, I know you could do much better than me. You deserve much better than me and although I didn't 'Strike First' or anything like that, I really like you y/n and I think that might like me back," Demetri paused and looked to her face for an answer.
Y/n walked right up to the raven-haired boy and kissed him. Despite it just being a peck, it made Demetri's face burn a bright red.
"Uhh, thanks?," he muttered nervously.
Y/n giggled "Alright well, I gotta go get changed but I'll meet you at the cinema in 30 minutes?" she said as she climbed the steps to her house.
"Yeah, it's a date!" Demetri called after her, a big grin plastered on his face because even though they went to the movies every Saturday, this time was different. This time, they didn't have to hide how they felt.
