The Vampire Assassin

Chapter 5

                     The plan was simple. Alesky Saitek was going to give out a speech tonight at the Numerico Kaplica (Chapel). He would be heavily guarded; or so Giovanni tells me. "Then how will I get him?" I had asked Giovanni. "I will have me and some of my men distract the guards." "Men?" I was so confused, I didn't know what he was talking about.

                     He smiled at me "Well you don't think I would have hit you on the head now would I. Considering you could see my hands if I did." I looked around the room and sniffed the air. "Where are they?" "I told them to leave because I didn't want you to be startled when you woke up." "Oh" I said.

                     "So I will have my men distract the guards and you may take a couple with you in case there are guards blocking the way. I must warn you though." He bent down to whisper in my ear "Half of my men drink animals. The other half drink people so I suggest you take the animal drinkers." "Ok that won't be a problem."

                     "Good."He looked at me with those brown eyes. "Then when you have assassinated Alesky Saitek I want you to come right back here." I smiled. I liked that idea, I wanted to spend more time with Giovanni. "Got it!" "Good now let me introduce you to my men."

Giovanni led me out the front door and walked across from his house and down an alley. The alley was long and narrow. The building's above connected so no sunlight, rain, snow or whatever would fall down. Some water was leaking down the walls. Must be a water problem.

I sure wouldn't want to catch someone going down here. If any vampires were here they would kill a person right then and there. Wait.... Giovanni's men. Half drank humans. They must live down here and catch any prey that comes down here. An easy snack.

I suddenly got scared. What if they tried to take a bite out of me? What if they didn't know any better? No Rosa they won't take a bite out of you  I calmed myself.

We soon got to a rusted metal door. Giovanni knocked on it twice and said "Krwi (blood)." The door opened and Giovanni went inside with me following him. As soon as the door opened I smelled vampires. It was very strong. I looked around. There were no lights on but with my night vision I could see dust and cobwebs all over.

I followed Giovanni up some stairs. When we got to the top we were welcomed by 20 vampires or so. "Hey Gio!" they all said in unison. Some of them looked at me with curiosity, others just ignored me like I wasn't even there. "Hello. Everyone I would like you to meet Rosa. She is the assassin of a friend of mine." Some said hello while others kept their mouths shut.

"Whatcha doin here Rosa." a guy with black hair said, looking at me up and down. Giovanni saw that and said "She is not here to join us boys. Rosa is here to assassinate Alesky Saitek." The black haired guy looked down, disappointed while the others expressions lit up.

"Are we gonna be helping boss?" a blonde haired guy said. "Yes" Wooooo" all of them said. "Quiet quiet you'll draw attention to us." "Sorry" they all said.

"Now I will tell you the plan later after I find Rosa and I something to eat. Now you all should do the same." Giovanni said sternly "Don't draw any attention to yourselves got it." "Got it" They all rushed down the stairs and out the door. They then split up going down the alley. Some went right while some went left. When they got to the end of the alley they waited a few minutes after each person went.

Me and Giovanni walked out of the alley way after everyone was gone. "Why do you have teenagers?" I asked him. "Well they are more stronger than us older people. Have you ever seen Nicarus fight anyone?" I thought about this and figured he was right.
