Chapter 8

Soon I found the book store. Niccolo told me how to get there which was pretty easy because there was only one bookstore. I opened the store doors and inhaled. I followed the vampire scent to lead me right to Alex. She had her nose in a book with a worried look on her face. I didn't know if something happened in the book or if she was worried about me.

As I approached her she looked up. Her expression looked relieved, then it changed to upset. "Where were you?" She asked me. "I was just walking around until I finally found the bookstore. I turn around to say something but your not there. Explain yourself." She had her finger pointed at me now.

"Sorry, sorry I should have said something but I ran into that boy again. You know the one that was talking to me in the art merchants store." She just stared at me so I continued "He had dropped some boxes so I helped him bring them back to the art merchants."

"Oooooo does someone have a little crush?" she cooed. "What? No I was just being nice." I defended myself. She tsked at me "Sure, sure whatever you say." She put down the book and walked off.

I growled at her. To low for humans to hear. "Hey, hey," she said and turned around to face me "No need to be nasty.Your secrets safe with me." She locked her lips with an invisible key and threw it over her shoulder. I couldn't help but smile. I haven't had a true friend in a long time.

Alex towed me all around the bookshop. We went to different sections of books. There were Mystery, Romance, Science fiction, Fantasy and many more. I found 2 that seemed interesting while Alex had her hands full. Well she did say she was getting books for the boys.

We payed for the books and walked back over to Giovanni's.

When we neared the house I smelled something familiar. Alex smelled it to. "Be cautious. Someones here." I sniffed again. "Wait. Hold on." I said. We walked toward the house a little slower than we did before.

There was someone leaning on the door frame of Giovanni's house. There was a familiar mischievous smile on the figures face. A huge smile spread across my face, "Darius!" I yelled and started running towards the figure. Just as I suspected my big brother Darius stepped away from the door frame and opened his arms out to me.

I ran into his arms and he enveloped me into a bear hug. "Miss me already?" he asked. I inhaled the sent of him and replied "Whenever we're apart I always miss you." He chuckled.

When we finally pulled away I asked "What are you doing here anyway?" Darius opened his mouth to say something and hesitated. I saw him look over at Alex who was walking over to us cautiously. "Well," he began, in a caring tone "The boss let me have a couple days off. So I decided to run on over here and give my little sis a visit. To see how your doing." He ruffed up my hair and I shooed him away.

Alex finally reached us. She was about to say something but was interrupted by Darius. "Hello there." Darius said smoothly. "Rosa who's your friend." I rolled my eyes. I figured out where this was going. "Fine. Darius this is Alexandria, Alex this is my brother Darius." 

"Alexandria. Pretty name. Nice to meet you." He held out his hand and gave her a cocky smile. If Alex could blush I think she would have. "You can call me Alex and the pleasures all mine." She took his hand and gave him a small, sweet smile.

I rolled my eyes but I felt happy for Darius. Actually for both of them. Darius has finally found someone he's interested in. After he killed his girlfriend he was a wreck when it came to girls. Now he might have actually found someone, who was already a vampire too.

 I still don't know a whole lot about Alex yet. But just yesterday she was depressed about being a vampire and wouldn't to live a full life. Now she might have just found that one person that could make her eternity a happy one.

"Well I'll leave you two and go in to talk to Giovanni." I said. They were both to busy staring at each other. Alex pulled her gaze away from Darius. "Oh. Yes. Right behind you." Alex said clearly embarrassed. "I'll come too. If its alright." Darius looked at Alex for conformation. "Oh, of course, come on in." She opened the door for me and Darius.

When we got inside we were surprised to see that no one was home. No wonder Darius wasn't beat up or anything for being by a strange vampires home.

"Uncle!" Alex called out but there was no answer. "Hmm," she started "I guess he went out." I nodded and thought about what I should do next. There wasn't a whole lot to do anyway. "We could always come back later." Alex said. "In the meantime, Darius would you like a tour of the town and our vampire hideout?" Darius gave her a sweet smile and replied "I would be delighted to." He held his arm out for her to take it. "You can come to Rosa." she offered. "Nah i'm fine. You two go on." I said and winked at both Darius and Alex, for they were both looking at me. Alex took the crook of Darius' arm, giggled at a joke he made and they were gone.

Now what to do I thought. There wasn't anything to do at the hideout. I decided to take a slow walk through the town to the woods to grab a bite. I really wanted to make my eyes that pretty brown the rest of them had.

I closed the door behind me and set off towards the woods. My head was down low so no one could see my eyes. As slow as I went somehow I made it to the woods pretty fast. I hunted a couple of animals. When I was satisfied and decided to head back to Giovanni's the town was a little emptier.

This town was very cute, I decided. Maybe one day i'll retire here. I was lost in my thoughts when allof a sudden a ran into someone again. Lucky me.

I fell on my stomach. The person next to me, to my surprise, was Niccolo. He smiled at me when he realized who I was. "Are we always going to meet up like this?" He chuckled. I smiled "Its not to bad. I just wish we would meet up in a more decent way than this though." Niccolo got up before me, grabbed my waist and helped me up. Shivers ran down my spine when he touched me.

When I was steady on my feet and we met each others gazes I was relieved that my eyes were now brown after my meal. Not red or else he would have ran away in fear. "So what are you doing in town at this hour?" Niccolo asked. "Just looking at the sights. waiting for the sun to go down." I answered him. "You want to see the sundown? Well I know where you can get the the perfect view. Come on." Niccolo gabbed my gloved hand and led me through a series of alleys.

We finally reached a grassy hilltop. At the bottom of the hill Niccolo dropped my hand. "Hey Rosa, race you to the top." He smirked and started up the hill.

This was a totally different boy from the timid shy one this morning. Tonight he seemed confident and sure of himself. I wonder why that was? Leaving my thoughts I soon realized I was losing. "Hey get back here!" I yelled up at him. His back was turned to me so I used my super human speed to getright behind him. I used my left shoulder to shove him over a bit so I could finish the race up the hill.

When I made it to top I pretended I was out of breath and tired, just as Niccolo was. "No fair Rosa, you cheated." He stated with his hands on his knees. I imitated him and said "Well you had a head start." He laughed "I guess so."

I leaned back and fell on the grass. Niccolo did the same right beside me. He was right. This was a beautiful view of the sundown. The clouds in the sky were a peachy pink. The sky was beginning to get darker and darker as the sun went down.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" Niccolo sighed. "Yes." I agreed. "Thank you." I turned over to look at his face. When I found he was staring at me to I felt butterflies in my stomach. For some reason the urge to reach out and grab his hand came across my mind.

Thats when I knew Alex was right. I, Rosa the vampire, had a crush on Niccolo, the human.

So sorry I haven't uploaded in so long. I've just been to busy to do anything on wattpad.
