Tired, I slumped down on the ground while drinking water from my water bottle.
"Tae, that was really good! Let's try it one more time. We have to get a good song ready for your fans." The dance choreographer lended me a hand as I got up. "Minhyuk created the perfect song!"
I smiled as I placed the bottle back onto the bench. "He's very talented."
"That he is," I heard a voice from behind. "We're lucky to have him." I turned around to see Suho leaning against the door frame. "Do you mind if I borrow Taejun for a moment?"
"No-"
"Yes. Yes, I mind." I smirked at Suho before bowing towards my choreographer. "I'll be back in like ten minutes, hyung."
Suho grabbed me when I came near the door. "Make that an hour, hyung. Take a break and we'll see you an hour later."
"Why do you need-" The door slammed shut before he could finish his words.
"What do you need, hyung?" Suho pulled me towards the wall and looked at me apologetically. "Stop looking at me like that and just tell me. What mess did you drag me into?"
Suho sighed. "So..."
"So?"
Suho groaned. "I accidentally forgot that I have a individual photo shoot today, but I agreed to look over the hoobae's performance. You literally just have mark everything that they're doing wrong, from introduction to the final piece. Can you please please please look over them instead of me? Seriously, it only takes like twenty minutes. They're in room B-03. Love you, okay?" He ran off without giving me a chance to say no.
"Hyung! Suho hyung!" I yelled after him, but he held up the peace sign and kept running away. "Ugh. Which hoobae group is he even talking about?" I walked off towards B-03.
Opening the door, I noticed five boys practicing to a song, unknowing that I walked in. They kept dancing in a synchronized beat, and it took five minutes for the tallest one to notice me.
"Hello, sunbaenim!" He looked confused to see me.
"Hello, Suho couldn't make it so I came to substitute."
The tallest guy nodded and lined the others in a straight line. While sitting down on a chair, I saw from the corner of my eye that he was making a straight line.
The five of them waited for a cue, while I sat.
"So who's the leader here?" I leaned back and stared intensely at the five of them.
The tallest one raised his hand. "I am, sunbaenim."
"And your name is...?"
"Seonghwa Kil."
I nodded, marking down his name on the paper. "So, when I sit down and wait, your supposed to say, 'we'll introduce ourselves', and go ahead with your introduction. You can't wait for someone to cue your response."
Seonghwa gulped before nodding. "We'll introduce ourselves! Shoot shoot shoot! We are Renegade!" The five of them bowed after making a shoot motion.
I said to myself, "Not bad of a name." I looked up at them. "Did you guys make the name or did the company give it to you?"
"We were given the choice to make a name, and we decided on Renegade because it means that we are traitors to our own limits and we will break through anything," Seonghwa explained.
I tilted my head to the side for a moment, thinking. "Alright. Let's see your performance."
They hustled into two lines, as the glare of their eyes changed. "Sike!"
"Tame the lion that I cannot seek. Fire it up!" The song quickly changed into a fast tension as the choreography became intense. "Oh oh ooh ah! Fire! It! Up!"
As the song ended, I clapped my hands before narrowing in on each person. "First of all, you guys produced this yourselves, correct?"
"Yes, sunbaenim.""It's a very well made song, enough to catch attention from fans considering that it is your debut song. It's full of fire. First person, Seonghwa. I noticed that your body is very stiff while dancing. It's not enough for fans to notice, but it's enough for a choreographer to come in and scold you for it. I know I'm just a senior idol at this company, but when there's even a slightest mistake, the mentors don't let it go." I pointed my pen at Seonghwa. "Your going to have to practice that. Other than that, though, I didn't see any mistakes at all. Your vocals are very stable."
Seonghwa bowed deeply, "Thank you sunbaenim!"
"How old are you?"
"I'm twenty-one."
"Your young. Next person. Is your name Daniel? Is that your stage name...?"
Daniel bowed. "I'm from Canada, so I decided to go with my English name."
"Mm. My note to you is that your exactly the opposite from Seonghwa. Your dancing is great, but your vocals couldn't reach half the notes. That's a very serious problem. Considering that you're debuting in one week, you really have to focus on that. Your debuting not only to achieve your dream, but because fans out there are rooting for you. The reason that we idols can't give up is because we feel bad about the fans that have been cheering us on for so long."
Daniel hung his head. "The notes are too high, sunbaenim."
"Who produced the song?"
A hand next to Daniel rose. "Me, sunbaenim. I'm Jimin."
I scanned through Jimin's profile before looking up at him. "Your only sixteen. Hm. I don't have anything to say to you. You showed the most potential in the performance I just saw." I got up. "I'm not saying that the rest of you don't have potential. I'm saying that since Jimin has a good foundation, he has no trouble picking up speed later on."
After going through everyone, I walked towards the door. "I'm rooting for you guys."
"Thank you, sunbaenim!" They bowed as I walked through the door.
I stared at my phone while walking back to my practice room when I bumped into someone. "Ah, I'm so sorry-" My words were cut off as the person grabbed my hand and dragged me into an office. "What-" I looked up to see my CEO's face.
"We need to talk, Taejun." His face is grim. "Minhyuk got into an accident and we don't know if he can travel with you guys on the world tour."
"WHAT?!" That's too much news, considering I just came out from- Never mind, that's too much news whenever and wherever.
