Chloe woke up in her bed confused. She looked around questioning how she got back to the hotel. She then remembered and softly smiled, but her smile quickly flipped upside as she remembered her father's crash. Sally knocked on her door and walked in.

"Oh, you're awake." She said, "when did you come back?"

Chloe scratched her head, "I don't exactly remember."

She sat on the bed, "So Lightning is till in the hospital."

Chloe frowned, "how was he?"

"Looked better. He kept asking for you though." She answered, "I told him that you had went for a walk to clear your head."

"How did he react?" She asked.

"He was hurt that you weren't there." Sally answered, "but he understood why you were gone."

"How long will he be in there?" She asked.

"Just one more night." Sally answered, "they wanted to keep him another day for a few more check ups. Then we will go back to Radiator Springs."

"Will he ever be able to race again?" She asked.

Sally bit her lower lip, "it's hard to say. We'll have to just wait and see."

"Can I go see him?" Chloe asked.

"Yeah, you get ready and you can go." Sally smiled.

Chloe showered, got dressed, styled her hair, and put makeup on. She made her way to the hospital and walked in.

"Good morning." The nurse smiled, "who are you visiting?"

"Lightning McQueen." Chloe answered.

"He is in room 215 on the 2nd floor, sweetheart." She said.

"Thank you." Chloe replied.

Chloe stepped into the elevator and pressed on the 2nd floor button. Once the elevator opened on the 2nd floor, she stepped out and walked to room 215. She quietly opened the door and closed it. McQueen turned from the TV and smiled.

"Chloe!" He smiled.

"Dad!" Chloe ran to him and hugged him gently.

McQueen squeezed her, "I was so worried about you. Nobody knew where you went and I didn't know if anything had happen to you-"

"Dad, I'm fine." She looked at him and hugged him back, "I'm sorry. I'm the reason this happened."

"No little thunder, it's not." He replied, "this wasn't your fault. It was mine."

"But I pushed you to do this race." She argued.

McQueen cupped her face to get her to look at him, "Chloe. None of this was your fault. That crashed happened because I pushed myself to go too fast on that track. You weren't driving the car were you?"

"No." Chloe answered.

"Then it's not your fault." McQueen replied, "just please don't go anywhere without me knowing where you are."

"I promise." Chloe hugged him again.

Storm threw a plate at the wall, "I told you to not be around that McQueen anymore!"

"But dad, I love her!" Daniel yelled.

"I don't care! My goal is to tear McQueen down!-" He then paused, "actually. . ."

Daniel crossed his arms, "what."

Storm laughed psychotically, "this plan will totally work!"

Daniel looked at his father like he was an idiot.

"You say you love McQueen's daughter. And it's pretty clear she's into you as well." Storm scratched his chin, "You get her to fall in love with you and trust you, lead her to our home, and I will lock her away and McQueen will be so distressed that he would do ANYTHIING to get her back!"

"No way in hell am I doing that to her or her father!" Daniel argued, "there's no use for it! You've already put McQueen in the hospital! Isn't that enough???"

"No!" Storm yelled as he grabbed a gun and pointed it at Daniel, "you WILL follow this plan. Or I will do it myself and will make sure that you watch me blow her brains out and you won't be far behind her. Are we clear?"

Daniel sighed, "yes sir."
