McQueen was rushed to the hospital immediately after the crash. Everyone was waiting in the waiting room. Chloe was pacing back and forth while pulling on her fingers.

"Chloe honey, try to sit down." Flo frowned.

"I can't." She spoke, "I physically can't sit down. My dad is in surgery and we have no idea what is condition is! You saw him crash as he tried to beat Storm! And it's all my fault!"

She pulled her hair as she jerked herself around. Sally jumped up and wrapped her arms around her. Chloe's body relaxed as she sobbed on Sally's shoulder. Sally rubbed her back and hugged her.

"Chloe this wasn't your fault." She told her.

"B-but I pressured him into giving his all into beating Storm." Chloe sobbed, "if I never did that, he wouldn't be in this situation."

"Hey, what happened on the track was an accident." Mack spoke, "None of us knew it was going to happen."

The door opened and the doctor walked out. Everyone stood up to hopefully hear some good news.

"He is out of surgery." He announced, "there's good news and bad news."

"What's the good news?" Ramone asked.

"The good news is that his surgery was successful." The doctor answered.

"And the bad news?" Chloe asked.

"Unfortunately from how traumatic the crash was. . .he has a concussion and a broken leg. We were able to stitch up the gashes and remove the glass but he is in a cast." He explained, "And I hate to say this but based off of his chart, he may not ever be able to race again."

Chloe's heart dropped. All she could do was blame herself for this.

"May we go see him?" Sally asked.

"Yes. He is fully awake right now." The doctor answered.

"I'm gonna go on a walk." She said, "I need to clear my head."

"But-" Flo started.

"Just tell him that I'm sorry." She replied.

With that said, she walked out of the waiting room, leaving the hospital. She walked in the dark to the race track. She sat in the spot where Lightning's car was. She hugged her knees and let out the most loud and painful sob you could ever hear. She pictured the crash in her head over and over again.

"I'm sorry!" She cried, "This is all my fault!"

Daniel sat at the dinner table, staring at his food. His dad walked over to him.

"Why haven't you finished your dinner?" He growled.

"I've lost my appetite." Daniel spoke lowly, "after all, you did cause that accident at the race."

"So what if there was a crash at the track?" He questioned, "It's normal!"

"But to do it to the one racer who's daughter is literally in the pits?!?"

"Oh boo hoo!" His dad mocked, "so she sees her father crash at a race. Big Deal!"

"He got seriously hurt and you know it!" Daniel yelled.

"That's the point dumbass!" His dad yelled back, "and if I see you with his daughter I will personally blow her head off!"

Daniel's blood boiled and he stood up from the table, "I am 19 years old! You can't tell me who the fuck I can and cannot see!"

"You live with me and you will go by my rules!" His dad slammed his hand on the table.

Daniel threw his plate at the wall and left the hotel. He made his way to the track. He then saw Chloe asleep on the pavement. He ran to her and gently shook her.

"Chloe?" He called, "oh god please don't be dead."

She slowly opened her eyes and sat up. Daniel held her back to prevent her from falling over.

"H-how long was I out?" She asked tiredly.

"I don't know I just got here." He said sitting next to you, "I'm so sorry for what happened earlier."

She wiped her remaining tears, "there's no need to be sorry. It was my fault anyway. I pushed his confidence too much."

"No you don't understand," He squinted his eyes, afraid of her reaction, "I'm sorry because Jackson Storm. . .is my father."

Her eyes widened, "He is?"

"Yeah. . ." He frowned, "my full name is Daniel Storm."

Chloe turned her head and looked at her feet.

"Chloe I'm so sorry I didn't tell you before. I knew that my father wanted to beat your father for a long time and I was scared to tell you because you would automatically hate me." He explained.

"I don't hate you." She spoke, "You're not like your father."

"Chloe you should head back to your team." He said, "it's almost 2am."

"I'm fine to stay out a little longer." She answered with a yawn.

"Chloe you're exhausted." Daniel told her, "Being stressed out this much can make you exhaustingly tired. Do you want me to take you home?"

"They know I'm out and about." She spoke tiredly, "I'm fine."

Daniel saw that she had fallen asleep while bunched up in a ball resting her head on her knees. He gently picked her up and walked to the city. He knew which hotel you were in, don't ask why or how. He climbed the ladders on the side of the building and entered a hotel room. He walked around, seeing her teammates sleeping in different rooms.

He found a room that looked like it belonged to her. He placed her in the bed and tucked her in. She was still sleeping. He slightly moved her hair out of her eyes and looked at her peaceful sleeping face. He began walking out, but then walked back to her.

He gently kissed her lips. He stood up with a soft smile and left the hotel.
