The rage for the next man to die in my hands was reduced. Terrance Harper was the technical man on his side, he specialized in microphones, computers and security cameras. He had all the information he could give me, enough to set me up for success in killing the one man who I've truly ever wanted dead.

I walk up the concrete stairway, headed to the front door of the library. Pushing the door open, the dusted and dimmed room welcomed my vision freely. The desk on the left held the librarian and secretary while their heads turned to mine at the sound of the bell.

I walked in and toward the bookshelves near the back. The yellow lights above beamed down onto the grey carpet, coating the wooden frames in an aurous glow. I plucked a book from between two others, scanning the words briefly while letting them drift to the man stood on the other side of the bookshelf.

I placed it back down and lifted my head, seeing as the man stared deeply into the book about computers. I almost grimaced at how dull it looked.

His head lifted and his green eyes met mine. His lips parted and his eyes went a bit wide before I sent a small smile. He reciprocated it after a few more seconds of staring. "What's that book about?" I started.

"Uh," he stammered, looking back down at the book. His eyes darted across the front cover. "It's— it's nothing special... just about technology."

I hummed while he pushed his glasses back up to the bridge of his nose, his eyes lifting back to my own. "What kind of technology do you like?" I asked curiously.

"Just, um, computers... and cameras," he spoke. I mentally grinned at the nervous state of him. "What— what do you like to read?"

"Romance novels," I replied. His eyebrows lifted as my gaze scanned the books at my fingertips. "I like reading the passion and sensuality. Have you ever read one?" He nodded quickly and shorty while I smiled. You'd think that working with the most dangerous man in the underworld would put at least a bit of a hard shell on you. "What's your name?"

"Terrance," he picked up a second book from the shelf and put the two between his torso and forearm. "What's yours?"

"Elena," I replied. The bell of the store rang when man that seemed a little over my age walked into the library, sent a small wink to the secretary, and headed to the back shelves.

I eyed the man, watched as he walked down the isle of a few shelves behind us. "Would I be able to take you somewhere just down the street?" Terrance's head snapped to mine, with a glint of confusion, he nodded. I let a small smile flicker onto my lips and it made him reciprocate it unknowingly.

I walked him toward the front door of the library, and with a quick glance over my shoulder, I see the man who recently entered the building watching us intensely. I locked eyes with him and for a split second felt an uneasy feeling course through me.
