LYANNA
Hera strung the bracelet around my wrist and I stared at it. I made that, I really made that. I threw a goofy smile at her and walked over to Khione.
"So hey, Khione, there's this party we are going for tomorrow and we were wondering if you would like to come with us"
She smiled "yeah, I would love to. Who should I come as?"
I rubbed the bracelet, "yourself silly! , just mortal"
She started counting off on her fingers "I need to do my hair, my nails, what am I going to wear?"
"Calm down " Denise said, walking over "you can swing by my place and get dressed"
"Whose party?" Hestia said, throwing her arm around Khione's shoulder. "I want in"
"Okay" Liu said slowly. She picked up my hand and rubbed her fingers over the Obsidian. "Maybe I would make one of these when I'm good enough with my element."
I held her hand and made eye contact , "You are good with your element, you just need to trust yourself". Bending down, I picked up a bottle of water
"Imagine this" I gave her the bottle and she wrapped her hand around the bottle, closed her eyes and inhaled. "Feel the power beneath your skin, through the veins and capillaries, will the power to move beyond you to the bottle"
"Like the little girl in Firestarter."
After a few seconds, a chill emanated from her body, climbing up the bottle until it was frozen through. A thin layer of frost covered the bottle. She gasped and opened her eyes.
"Now melt it" I said again, Noticing Ares staring at the bottle. She closed her eyes and furrowed her brows in concentration.
"Do it with your eyes open, you won't have the time to close them while you're in a battle." Ares said. She opened her eyes slowly and narrowed them at the bottle, water slowly formed at the sides and began dripping down.
I left her to it and went to my beeping phone, I had a text from Zoe Hardin. How she got my number is a mystery, but then again, it's high school.
Hey hey, just wondering if you and your posse are going to show for le partay, we will be waiting.
I stared at the text, and then I thought. We? My hunches went up.I quickly replied a confirming text and dumped my phone in my bag. I returned to Liu who held an upturned empty bottle.
"Where the water?" I asked and she pointed to Denise, who was reclining midair on a puffy cloud.
"She turned it to steam, so I just added a little more humidity" Denise said, swinging her sneakered feet up and down.
"You do know that all that humidity you've gathered is our collective sweat." I say, a small smile at my lips.
Denise blanched, her face screwed up in disgust. "Ewwww." She hopped off the cloud and it vanished.
"You three are really good" Ares said, from across the room "Flame over there isn't sure of herself, which is totally normal for a fire bearer "
He walked over to her and pulled her up. "Let's have a little training, shall we? "
He stepped back a couple paces and smirked "Alright, April, hit me."
She shook her head "I can't do that, I'll hurt you." She wrung her hands behind her back, and stepped back a little. From the corner of my eye, I see Hestia glare at Khione.
"You can do it, April " Denise said, looking at Hestia too
Khione shuffled over to me and bit her lower lip
"Come on April, don't you want to get back at me for the arrow incident." He sneered "or do you want Lyanna here to fight for you."
"I'm not doing it" She said in a firm voice, turning away. She reached for her bag and left the gym.
A fireball came whizzing by and Khione deflected it, leaving a puddle of water.
"We give you years to get protectors of the Earth and you picked someone who isn't sure of herself to handle Fire." She Screamed. Her red hair ablaze and her hands which were burning at her sides.
Something covered Khione, shimmering like water it flowed over her body until it got to the floor. Then it froze.
Armor.
Hera rushed to the middle of the room
"Hey, No fighting " She turned to Ares "help me."
Hestia growled and charged at Khione.
Ares zoomed across the room and grabbed her around her waist, flinging Hestia across the room while Hera vanished with Khione.
