"Yeah" Chris said, moving about a bit, his hooves scraping the dark soil, " A centaur "
I rolled my eyes, folding my arms again "and here I was, thinking I've probably found my first love "
Sarcasm is my only defense.
"You are a protector" He said, "and I'll have the pleasure of draining your powers." He smiled, running his hand through his hair "before I hand you over of course."
"Hand me over? To who? Who are you working for? Who sent you?" I said dryly, "tell them you have the wrong girl"
The ice pulsed frantically behind my ear, he was looking a bit confused. Cmon cmon cmon
"You have Hestia's mark" He insisted, his eyes darting to my arm.
"Oh no, I'm just another girl with a flame tattoo "
I was getting tired of this, I backed up slowly, while Chris stared at me, his eyes narrowed. His tail flicking around.
"This won't hurt." He moved towards me, arms outstretched.I turned and ran, his hooves a thunderous beat behind me.
"I am running away from a horse. Oh, the disadvantages of being human." I said under my breath and turned left and he leapt over the dividing hedge. It was a dead end. Damn mazes. I ran to the end regardless.
I raised my hand and touched Khione's ice tracker, it was cold, I melted it, warm water running down my neck and I bent over, prepared for impact.
If only I could get to the other end of the maze. I stared hard at the opening, then I smelt smoke. I looked down, my feet was covered in fire, I was burning.
The smoke covered me and I tried to look unperturbed meanwhile I was screaming in my head. I closed my eyes and felt the ground move. When I opened my eyes, I was at the opening. I turned and ran, Chris a few seconds behind me. Something whizzed past my hair.
Arrows, of course centaurs have arrows.
My eyes darted around, nothing to defend myself with. My arm was flaming, I turned and flung my arm at Chris, flames leaving my hands. He reared back on his hind limbs.
The fire came in contact with the ground, and soon spread around him in a circle. He paced uncomfortably around, but still shot arrows at me.
"You have been warned" I said, the flames dying out. "Go! Tell your masters that they won't succeed."
I heard footsteps behind me. "She's over here" came Liu's voice. I turned and saw all the girls and I ran into their arms and exhaled in relief.
"I think we should leave " Denise said, but Khione walked up to Chris, whose eyes widened as he caught sight of her and recognised her.
"Khione" He gasped, backing up slowly, she walked through the fire, and put her hand on his chest.
"I knew I had seen you before" He said sadly as Khione's hand began to glow.
Chris' screams rent the air, the spot on his chest turning blue and veined. Then Khione vanished. So hey guys, I decided to change the name of my book to Invictus.
Why? The other day I decided to search for Element (I was bored) annnnnndd I came across a lot of interesting, (and might I add, incomplete) books titled Element.
So I decided to change it to Invictus, which loosely translates to undaunted.
Thanks to @spite for the cover. It's awesome as always.

МистикаHades hasn't been idle, we humans believe the Greek myths were just that. Myths. I know better now. We've lived on Earth thinking that anything we couldn't see were just figments of people's imagination. Name it: Id'ea, Asgard, The Fae order, Greek...
