As I pull into the school parking lot, I notice that there is a huge lawn spreading around the school, trees and lush green grass are in abundance. There are multiple benches scattered in the shade, along with a beautiful brick bike path. Another thing I notice is the fountains and statues dispersed throughout the greenery.

The school itself is massive. It's made of red brick and resembles a castle. It has huge windows. Towers, gargoyles even.

As I gape at the emence beauty of my new school, I fail to notice someone walk up beside me.

"Let me guess, you're new?"

I let out a small squeak and jump away from the voice.

"Oh, my. I didn't mean to scare you miss."

I gasp as I look at the owner of the voice. He is gorgeous. With his dark hair and the most amazing electric blue eyes. He is tall, six and a half feet, and lean, but muscular. Broad shoulders that taper down to a narrow waist. His shirt clings to his form perfectly.

"Well?? Do you know how to speak?" He questions.

"Y...Ye...Yes.." I stutter.

"Do you have a name?"

"I... Um.. I'm..." Oh gosh, I sound like an idiot.

"Cat got you tongue, gorgeous?"

"No... wait, what? gorgeous? I... Um... uh...." I stammer. My eyes grow wide and I know my face must be turning 50 shades of red.

He laughs, "what, never been called gorgeous?"

"I... Um... n..No... Uh..." Oh God. What was wrong with me?

"So, Gorgeous, do you have a name or shall I just keep calling you Gorgeous?"

"I um.. No.. uh.. I mean.. Yes... uh.. My.. My name... uh.. My name is Melody...." I finally get out. I've never exactly been social, I always keep to myself and have never really been approached before, and never have I been called gorgeous.

"Wow. So she has a name, and it's just as beautiful as she is." He chuckles.

"She is right here. You don't have to talk like She is not standing here." I snap. Yeah, I know, way to be friendly. I have issues. Either I am painfully shy or I am overly sarcastic and bold.

"Oh so you can talk!" he grins as he says it. A breathtakingly perfect smile.
Oh, and he even has dimples! Can he get any more gorgeous? I ask myself.

"Well, since we finally got that taken care of, my name is Ethan."

"I.. Um.. It's.. uh.. nice to meet you.. I guess... Um.. I should get to class.. bye." I say as I grab my bag and turn to walk away. Wow, way to be rude to the handsome boy who is the first person to be nice to you, ever. I chastise myself.

"Hey, wait up, Melody. Do you even know where you're going?"

I stop. "Um... No... but I'm sure I can figure it out on my own.." I keep walking.

"Melody, come on. Let me show you around. Just for today? Please?"

I pause and glance back at him. "Um... fine.. I guess.. Um... I'm sorry... I'm being rude... It's just.. I usually don't get noticed.. by anyone.. especially someone like you."

"It's all good. Like me? What do you mean?"

"You're.... Um.... perfect..." I reply as I feel my face heat up as I blush. Did I just tell him that I think he is perfect? FUCK. He must really think I'm a freak now.

"You think I'm perfect?" He raises his eye brow at me in question. "You are the one that's perfect."

I freeze mid-step. "ME? Have you totally gone bonkers? I am far from perfect. Just the opposite actually."

Ethan paused. "bonkers??? What is bonkers?"

I laughed. "Bonkers. Crazy. Loco. Insane. Lost your mind." I explain.

"Ha, I've never heard that term before. I like it."

The rest of the day flies by. Ethan has all classes with me except one. He walks with me to each class and sat by me in each one also and even walks me to my truck at the end of the school day.

"Well, I hope your first day at Emerald academy was bearable. And I hope to chaperone you tomorrow." He looks at me gives me a goofy grin, and bows.

I giggle. "Today was better than just bearable. I think today has been the only day I've ever enjoyed at school. Thank you. I will see you tomorrow. I've  to get home and finish unpacking. Have a nice day, Ethan."

He starts to walk away so I get in, start my truck. But just before I drive away he comes running back and taps on my window. I roll it down.

"Melody, I almost forgot to ask. Do you have a cell phone??"

"I.. uh.. Yeah... why??"

"Let me see it."

I hand him my phone and watch curiously as he does something.

"There. Now, call me or text me if you need anything."

I just grin and take my phone back. I don't think anything could ruin the day I just had.
