Mirabel's Pov:
Since I can't talk to any of the Madrigals, I have to stay in my room. 'Why does Abuela have to do something so cruel to me?! It obvious she hates me! I have an idea! I'll just eat my arepas!' I ate my arepas and started drawing. I drew many sketches of dresses I will make. I finish and begin making the dresses. "The dresses I've made are pretty good! But I want to make some skirts as well," I get carried away to notice that someone was knocking on my door. "Hey it's me, Camilo!" Camilo whispered.
I jumped in my bed and pretended to be sleeping. "Mirabel?" Camilo opened the door somehow. "Oh she's sleeping! Or I'll just wake her up!" I closed my eyes and tried to sound like I was sleeping. Camilo tickled me and I held in my breath. "Oh so she really is sleeping! Hmmmm..." Camilo jumped on me and I almost screamed.
"Mirabeeeeelllll! Wake up! I thought you said you wanted to hang out with me today!" I remembered what he said but I couldn't talk to him. "Fineeeee... I'll let you sleep but right after we're going to play, okay? What am I saying? She probably can't even hear me!" Camilo sighed. "I'll see you later then..." Camilo sounded so hurt.
Tears started forming in my eyes. 'I'm sorry Camilo...' hugged myself silently crying. My eyes were now puffed and I just felt like I had no purpose to my life. I got up from my bed and continued making the dresses and skirts. After 5 hours I finally finished.
(I respect cultural works! So if one of these dresses or shirts aren't from Colombia, then please tell me and I will delete it or replace it with another image! Thank you!)
I'm quite happy with them! I feel exhausted and I have no arepas left. I don't even know what I should do now. "I guess it's more dresses for me!" I smiled but my smile soon faded. "I really miss my family already and right underneath my nose!" I sighed. Tears trying to force themselves out my eyes. 'Wait! Abuela said that I can't talk to the Madrigals so then I'll just make a friend!' I got out my bed and opened my door. I saw no one so I thought it was a good chance for me to get the heck out of here!
I ran in town and made sure to stay hidden. Just if any of the Madrigals spotted me. "Excuse me?" I jumped, turning around seeing a girl my age. "Oh! Uhh... Hi?" I smiled. "Wait you must be-!" I slapped my hand on her mouth. "That's me!" I smiled. I took my hand off and saw my hands print over her mouth. "I am so sorry!" I felt ashamed. "It's fine!" she smiled.
"I can't believe I'm actually getting to meet a Madrigal!" she laughed. "What's your name?" I question. "Oh, me? My name is Natalia!" (I don't really know any Columbian last names but if you have any in mind then please tell me!) Natalia smiled. "Mirabel!" I smiled. I held out my hand. She took it shaking my hand. "Friends?" I asked. "Friends!" Natalia smiled.
Camilo's Pov:
It's late in the afternoon and I haven't seen Mirabel one bit today! And I'm starting to get really pissed by this. I don't understand why Mirabel wasn't at the celebration but I know it has something to do with this! Well... I feel like it does! "Camilo? Are you okay?" Papi called me. I look up and saw my family and my cousins looking at me. "Yes, I am!" I said annoyed. "Camilo your hand," Tía Julieta pointed at my hand. I look down and saw a broken glass cup in my hand.
My hand covered in blood, stinging from the Aguapanela. I sighed and got up from my seat. I ripped the glass out my hand forcefully. "Camilo!" Tía Julieta ran to me and held my hand away from my other hand. "Do you know what you're doing?!" I could tell tía was angry but she sounded so calm. She took the glass out my hand carefully and gave me an empanada.
I ate it and my hand healed almost immediately. "Would you like to tell us what's been bothering you Camilo?" mami looked at me concerned. "I'm fine!" I tell her. My expression was calm but my tone of voice said something different. I guess my family could notice it judging by the faces they pulled. I left the dinner room and walked up into my room.
"It hate it when people break promises!" I banged my hand on my desk. "She promised we would go out in town together and she didn't even want to wake up! She always remembers these types things, so why the change now?" I sighed. "Maybe I'm just overreacting about this..." I laid back on my bed, thinking about to do next.
