"Hi, love you! Bye!" (Y/n) said, hurrying out of the fireplace and up the steps, making for her room."Where are you going?" Remus cried.
"I've only got three hours to get ready!" (Y/n) exclaimed.
"Only—" Remus cut himself off, for (Y/n) was already out of sight.
"Oh, she's so cute," Mary mused.
"I remember going to my first gala... Mind you, I wasn't sixteen or an intern," Lily said.
"Nor were you left alone for any moment of it," James added.
"DORCAS!" (Y/n) bellowed from somewhere upstairs, making the whole Order jump.
"Coming—" Dorcas began but she was abruptly drowned out by Mrs. Black's screams.
"SHUT UP, YOU OLD HAG!" (Y/n) fumed at the portrait, which had momentarily gone quiet before calling (Y/n) a good number of slurs relating to her blood status. Moments later, she appeared back downstairs, smiling pleasantly. "I need your help." She pouted pleadingly at Dorcas.
"'Course you do," Dorcas mused, stepping over to (Y/n). "Let's go." As they went upstairs, she was quick to draw Mrs. Black's curtains shut before leading (Y/n) upstairs. "Girls, mind if we have the room for the next few hours?"
Hermione and Ginny sighed miserably, nodding in confirmation nonetheless and leaving the room, deciding to go and pester the boys. Dorcas closed the door behind them.
"All right, into your dress..."
"What times does she need to be gone?" Ginny asked. She had grown quite bored of being on her phone in the drawing-room for nearly three hours.
"Eight," Molly answered.
"And how hasn't the meeting ended yet?" Fred frowned.
"They want to see (Y/n) off," Molly sighed. Her head shot in the direction of the doorframe at the sound of a door opening.
"Oh my— Come on, (Y/n)," Dorcas mused, her voice laced in amusement.
"I'm coming, I'm coming! I'm just so... pretty," (Y/n)'s voice answered. The kids and Molly flew to the door and Molly tried warding them off.
"Back, back!" Molly hissed. "(Y/n)!" she gasped, pleasantly surprised.
"Hello, Mrs. Weasley! I really don't have time to chat, but I'll tell you everything tomorrow," (Y/n) beamed.
"Why're you talking so weird?" Ginny asked, trying— and succeeding— to get past her mum. "Wow."
"Let us see, Mum!" Ron cried.
"Back, back!" Molly repeated, shooting a look back at the kids. "You can talk later!.. After the gala!"
Ginny gaped after (Y/n) in a sort of a daze."And she's letting us see for free?"
"What's she wearing?" Hermione asked, jumping up and down in order to see past Ginny and Molly.
"She looks like a fairy princess," Molly explained rather lamely. "You'll see later, I'm sure..."
"Depends on when she gets back," Harry sighed miserably.
"Exactly," Molly agreed.
"I don't think I've worn something like this since I used to be into dress-up," (Y/n) mused.
"How disappointing," Dorcas said. "I would dress up in these sorts of dresses every day if I could..."
(Y/n) smiled down at herself. Her bodice was a corset with a v-neckline and a v-waistline. There was a straight patch of lace over her neckline, giving it more of a heart shape. Flowers and butterflies were all across the neckline, travelling slightly down the bodice. Her sleeves were off the shoulder and had lace with pearl embroidery over them. Her skirt was a very shimmery purple fabric, matching the colour of her bodice. The skirt had even more flowers and butterflies sewn on.
As the gala was 'costume' themed, (Y/n) did have fairy wings that were quite a hassle when it came to getting through doorways. She had purple-themed makeup and purple and gold jewellery that matched her painted nails.
