Yujin POV
I went to the school cafeteria with my bestfriends Onjo and Isak. We were in line for food then I decide to leave them first to go look for a table for us. I went by passed the boys and shared a quick glance with Joonyeong. I look away as soon as possible to avoid the awkwardness.
As I was about to walk away further I heard someone say...
"Yujin come sit here, there is much space. Are you eating alone?" My best friend Cheongsan offers me.
"Uhm sure, but I was just looking for an empty table for Onjo and Isak as well. So next time I guess." I was certainly avoiding a certain person on that table.
"Yah, why do you act like you're gonna find another seat. Look around you the table is full. Don't you understand that it's lunchtime?" Gyeongsu said as he munch his food.
"Gyeongsu is right, it's not like you will find an empty seat soon. Here sit with us, your food is getting cold" Daesu said and tapped the empty seat beside him.
There is at least empty seats on the table for three people. The table in our school cafeteria are rectangular. Suhyeok sits on the corner of the left side and in front of him there's Cheongsan. Then Daesu is the opposite of Gyeongsu. Then Joonyeong sat beside Gyeongsu.
'Holy sheesh, I had no choice. It's either me sitting right beside Joonyeong or in front of him.' I thought to myself then my friend snapped me from my thoughts.
"You were gone like five minutes ago and why aren't you sitting yet?" Onjo approached me with Isak and their food trays.
Daesu grabs my hand and makes me sit beside him. My soup was a little bit splashed to Joonyeong's best. Onjo and Isak sit as well.
"Daesu what the hell, I spilled my soup." I said as a sat.
"You're taking too long Yujin, you won't finish your lunch. The bell is about to ring in 15 minutes." Daesu said.
"I'm sorry about that." I apologize to the person in front of me.
"I don't mind." Joonyeong said with a really flat tone and continues to eat.
"Do you guys want to go to my restaurant today?" Cheongsan asked to the girls.
"You said it wasn't opened yet, why you asked us." Onjo answered.
"My mom is trying a new recipe, she asked me to bring my friends. So i asked you guys. The boys will be there too." Cheonsan exclaimed.
"Yeah, we will a eat a lot of chicken. It's fun. Baresu won't be there tho." Gyeongsu.
"True, i have practice after school." Suhyeok replied.
"OMG YASH FREE FOOD, LET'S GO." Isak shout with a cheerful tone. As you can tell she loves fried chicken. It's her favorite food.
"I will come as well." Said onjo.
I was just stay silent and then Daesu asked.
"So Yujin will come too right?"
"I'll think about it." I actually dying to come with them. I mean it must be fun. But right now, I am totally aboiding the person in front of me after what happened yesterday.
Flashback POV.
I was taking Joonyeong's book that he left on class. I was planning to handing it to him because i know he always carry that notes. I sprinted to the science lab and saw Joonyeong about to enter the lab.
"Joonyeong-ah.." I didn't even have the chance to finish my sentence and he cut me off.
"Seriously Yujin, you meed to stop I don't have the time. Maybe you could continue your chatter with someone else." Joonyeong frowning.
"What is wrong with you." I said with low tone.
"Why are you keep talking to me like there's no other. You should understand that i have a busy schedule." He slightly yell.
"I-I'm sorry, you left your notes." I handed it to him and he accept it.
"Thanks." He said as he get in.
I should've know that I shouldn't asked him to hangout at the first place. After we hangout, we had more conversations even some inside jokes. He's not a person who got along with other kids in this school unless it's his friend group. But he said he was comfortable talking to me every time we had conversations. I mean yeah, he's one of the top students. Of course he didn't have the time and energy to be in a nonsense conversation. Our school curriculum is hard as well. I face a lot of struggle to maintain my rank to be in the top 10 in class. No doubt he's so pressured.
'Ah.. I should have more respect.' From now on, I'll give him more personal space.
Cheongsan POV.
Why is this girl so quiet today.
"Are you really not gonna come? It's going to be fun. Onjo and Isak are coming and why don't you?"
"Fine. I'm in." Yujin said as she stand up and leave.
"Why so rushed Yujin, are you mad? I won't force you to come then." I felt guilty.
"Oh no no, absolutely not. I already finished my meal and I- really need to got o bathroom when." She said throwing fake chuckles.
"Ah, I'll see you then."
"Why she's acting like that." I said as she was nowhere to be seen in the cafeteria.
"Like what?." Onjo asked.
"Like that."
"She's been so weird since we asked her to sat with us. Usually we would be laughing as soon as she open her mouth." Gyeongsu said.
"For real, her jokes is out of pocket." Baresu said.
"I honestly don't know, she's just fine to us." Isak said. "Anyways guys we gotta go first. See you later." She continues.
The boy just nodded.
Onjo POV.
"They were right though, Yujin act kinda strange." I talked to Isak.
"Maybe she's just tired. You know she had to practice for the dance competition."
"She didn't have a schedule for dance yesterday."
"Eh, you're right. Did she hang out with someone yesterday?"
"Maybe Joonyeong, they're often hanging out lately." I was thinking. "Uhm wait, actually she went straight to home yesterday. I saw her going home right after the bell rang."
"You're right. But dont you think it's odd? Yujin and Joonyeong were sat on the opposite side facing each other but they didn't have word during lunch."
"Let's just ask her later."
Then me and Isak just continues our school until the bell rang.
