The cold breeze of Sam Francisco woke me up. Or Zo's screams. She keeps trying to wake me up, taking my blanket away from my face.
"El! Your business!" My eyes instantly opened, observing the article on Zo's phone. "Booksy, a business worth its fame. Food, books, what can you ask more?"
A journalist had wrote an article on the my business. "Oh my god! That means- that means that... we have to go to there!" I screamed, running to my small closet and then to the bathroom.
***
I arrived inside and found the store almost full. Everyone was working and I started speeding to the library when I saw about half the books had disappeared.
I went to my office. I had so many files and when I opened my computer, I had over a hundred emails. This was going to be a long day.
***
"Wait, so can you repeat that?" I sighed, placing my face in my hands. "I already told you. There are a lot of new workers and there are new deliveries coming." She grabbed my hand.
We hugged for long until I got a phone call. I answered and put it on speaker, indicating Zo to be silent. "Is this miss Madinson?" I sat on my chair and played with my pinky finger.
"Yes, I am Lorelei Madinson." There was a bit of silence on the other end. "Well, there is a charity coming up in a few days and Martin Aetos asked for you to be there."
Martin Aetos? Zo mouthed.
I nodded. "Ok, where is it going to take place?" I asked, incredulous. "We will send you the details later today. The exact date is March 30th." Wow, that isn't a lot of time.
"Great, I'll be there." I exchanged goodbyes and then closed the call. "Martin Aetos? As in your business idol? El, you could literally become a big business woman if you enclosed a deal with him!"
I nodded. "And we could move out of our crappy apartment." Her eyes softened. I knew she didn't like it there. If it wasn't for me, she would probably be in college doing engineering.
"El, i know that look. Stop it." I looked away, playing nervously with my pinky. "And stop with the pinky." I narrowed my eyes at her. "It's obvious you're doing it. You do it when you're nervous."
I sigh, being totally honest, I never expected this. Yesterday, there was maximum five people in the store and now, there is about 40.
"Do you think I should do another booksy in San Francisco?" She nodded, starting to look through my computer. I heard a knock and I called out. A young little girl was at the door with tears in her eyes.
I ran to her and lowered down. "What's wrong?" I asked, wiping her tears. "I-I... brother was with me and now I can't find him. He went to go get coffee and left me at a table and then-"
I grabbed her hand. "I'll go help you find your brother." She gave me a small smile. "Zo, continue looking and I'll go with her." She nodded, clearly distracted with the magnetic screen in front of her eyes.
I started leading the little girl with me downstairs. How did she even get to the third stage of the building? My business had three stages of the seven stage building.
At one moment, she stopped walking. I turned to her and raised my eyebrows. "What's wrong?" I ask. She huffs, panting. "Im tired." I pick her up and she smiles. We both go to the elevator.
