Chapter 7: Marlene
Harry's shown me pictures of her, but I don't know much about her. I know that her and Sirius used to date in their early years of Hogwarts before Remus and Sirius stated dating near the end of their 4th year, but that's about it.She was gorgeous however, Marlene had fair skin and golden blond hair with pale green eyes. She was what I wanted to look like when I was younger, she was like the Lavender Brown of the Marauders era. She smiled at me when she saw me, but she still looked a little scared. "Good morning" I said to her, smiling
She nodded her head and mumbled something that sounded like a good morning "My name is Hermione Potter." She raised an eyebrow like everyone else. "Anyways I'm Minister for Magic, and I just want to ask you a few questions, as you may know people coming back from the dead is unheard of so I need you to take some of this veritaserum to verify your identity." She was still relatively quiet, but none in agreement "I know it's a pain but the sooner we do this the sooner you can be finished and join your friends." I was weird to me that she was being so quiet, even after everything that's happened, according to Sirius and Remus, she wasn't usually quiet.
She was a chaser and very bubbly and energetic. She has been through a lot however. "What's your full name?" "Marlene Amelia McKinnon." Her voice was clear and perfect yet there was some fear that was noticeable in her voice, which made sense. "How old are you?" "20 almost 21." "Who were your dorm mates at Hogwarts?" "Lily Evans, now Potter, Mary McDonald, Dorcas Medowes and Alice Fortescue, now Longbottom." "What is the last date that you remember?" "July 5th 1981." "First boyfriend?" "Sirius Black." "Parents names?"
"Jack and Amelia McKinnon." "Do you have any siblings?" She nodded. "Yeah, a younger sister, Madison McKinnon. I nodded. "Okay that's all, thank you, I just need you to sign these two spots to reverse your death certificate then your free to join your friend in the lounge, do you have any questions before that?"
"Um, yeah, what's the date?" "July 14th 2018." "What!?" She looked taken aback just like everyone else I interviewed so far. Clearly none of them was aware how much time had passed. Considering they all look like they are still in their early 20s, no wonder they didn't. "Yeah, a lot of time has past, Harry and Neville are almost 38." She paused for a moment like she was processingeverything I was saying. "Wow...soo, Potter?" I smirked, "Yeahh, Harry's my husband we've been married since July 2000, it was our 18th anniversary on the 10th." "Aww" "Anyways the lounge is right down the corridor there, around the corner to the left." "Thanks!" "No problem."
