ZUIN POV.

It was second period, I happened to sit by my cousin, Xavi. "So... This little magpie told me that in your science class," I was guessing by magpie he meant Uva, "That you're working in groups, and you partnered with a raven?" His white with brown spots wings ruffled. "What's her name? If you don't mind me asking." He placed his hand behind his head. "Carmine." I answered, as I fiddled with my pen.

"And remember! There's a test on Friday!" The teacher called out. I propped myself against the wall and waited for Carmine, yet she didn't come out of math. Instead, Aulie ran up to me. "Zuin! Zuin! Have you seen Carmine? They weren't in second or first, come to think of it, you weren't in first either," She shook her head, "I'm getting off topic, but have you seen her?" I shook my head, "No, but I have her number, for a science project, I can ask her if you want." She stared at me with wide eyes, "Y-Yeah." She stuttered, "Can you do that?" And that's what I did.

CARMINE POV.

I stared at the ceiling, with music blasting. The hair appointment wasn't till noon, and it was 8 am. My phone buzzed and I grabbed it. "You're joking right." It was a text from Zuin.

"Are you still coming over for the project? Aulie came up to me in the hall and told me that you're not here today."

I thought to myself of what to respond with. I eventually went with:

"Yeah, I just decided to stay home today."

"Oh, okay. Just to be sure, my uncle and cousin are coming over, we'll just chill in my room like last time. Also, is it okay with your parents if we have a sleepover? I feel like we could get more done that way."

I felt my cheeks heating up.

"Idk, I'll have to ask."

"Okay, bye bye now 👋"

And that was the end of it. My alarm went off for 11:00 am, time to get ready for the appointment. I showered and put my white button down on with my mint green top on top of that, with my black cargos.

"Hey, um, dad?" I fiddled with my fingers as he answered, "Yes, Carmine?"
"Is it okay if I still go over to Zuin's place for the project? He also told me to ask you if it was okay if we could have a sleepover..." He sighed, "Yes, it's fine if you do that..." We came to the hair salon, "Do you know when the sleepover will be over?" I shook my head. "No, but i will text you the day." We walked into the hair salon. "Hi, welcome in! Kilo and Carmine, I presume?" She asked, my dad nodded his head. "Alrighty! You're at station 6! Where Liu is, Liu, raise your hand!" I saw a hand similar to Zuin's go up. I walked to Liu. "Hello, I'm Liu, Carmine, right?" Liu almost the same features as Zuin. "Yup." I answered. "Okay! Find a comfy position on the chair here," He motioned to the chair on his right, "I have to go to the back and get both the wing and hair dye."

"Okay! There you go!" Liu said as he finished washing out my hair. "You know," He said as he dried his hands off, "My son is doing this science project, and he's working this raven and magpie. The raven happens to have the same name as you do!" Liu chuckled. "Coincident, maybe!" I answered, awkwardly.

I rounded the corner of Zuin's apartment and knocked, Iva answered. "Carmine! So nice of you to join us! Uva arrived a little earlier and he is sitting on the couch." Iva led me into the living room. I heard laughing, loud laughing. "Everyone! The raven I told you guys about just arrived! Meet Carmine!" I walked out of the hall and waved softly. "Hello, As Iva said-" I was cut off by a spitting sound, I looked in the direction of the sound and saw... Liu? "Aren't you the raven who came in today?" He asked. I nodded my head in response. "We then, come! Sit down!" Liu patted a seat next to him and I sat down.

I was laughing harder than I expected to, I was literally holding my stomach. I knock on the front door sounded and Iva went to get it. An older man walked in. "Hello everybody!" He yelled, "Wait, is my nephew, Zuin!?" It was clear that this man was Zuin uncle. Soon after someone followed him.
