Chapter Eight

The ongoing relationship between Rainbow Dash and Lightning Dust has started to fade out. The two girls aren't close anymore and they barely talk. Maybe both of them are just mad at different things and don't want to talk about it?

Whatever it is, they won't come anywhere if none of them encourages themselves to actually take a moment to talk.

And this can't go on forever. It most likely has to end or they two sort things out – which neither of them wants to do, because there's the chance the relationship might fade out again.

"This is the last day we're going to do nothing," said Rainbow Dash. "We have to talk."

The cyan girl grabbed the turquoise's arm.

"What is there to talk about? It's clear that you want to be with Applejack instead," muttered Lightning Dust.

Rainbow Dash sighed. "Yes, I do. She's my best friend, Lightning."

Lightning Dust sighed and pulled out from Rainbow Dash's grip.

"No. She isn't your best friend. She's clearly the one you're supposed to be with," sighed Lightning Dust. "When I confessed to you, I thought it'll be forever. Always. That nothing could separate us until you met Applejack."

There was silence, until Lightning continued.

"I was wrong. I realized at the party a week ago. I saw you guys together. I was jealous, because I wanted that to be us. I wanted to get you away from there because I was afraid of losing you. But I already did. You're into Applejack. You're in love with her. Realize that," continued Lightning Dust. "I'm going to be supporting you. I'll be protecting you and be by your side, but I won't be your girlfriend anymore."

Rainbow Dash was speechless. She couldn't say a word.

"Don't worry about me. I've already moved on. I found someone else," smiled Lightning Dust. "I'm breaking up with you, Rainbow."

Convinced that Rainbow Dash had a crush on Applejack, she walked to school. She couldn't believe that her relationship with Lightning Dust ended just yesterday, and she felt stupidly guilty for that.

"Dash! There you are!" claimed a known voice, approaching the cyan girl. "What's wrong with our girl?"

"Hey Sunset... there's nothing wrong," lied Rainbow Dash, practically lying.

"Yeah, and I ate a raw potato for breakfast," snorted Sunset Shimmer. "What's wrong?"

Rainbow Dash sighed. "Can I talk to Applejack? Do you know where she is?"

Sunset's expression lightened. She pointed to the cafeteria.

"Needing company?" she asked, shortly after.

"No thanks, I'll carry on from here," smiled Rainbow Dash.
