Moving Forward

Evelyn and Joey's relationship had gotten slightly more severe in a couple of weeks. They spent a lot of their time together. After she broke everything off with Jackson, she never thought about him again. Joey made her feel a way she had never felt before; she felt at ease. The only thing missing was a relationship with her sister. She missed her terribly. She fought with herself every day not to reach out to her; it got more brutal by the day. "I think you should cut her some slack and reach out to her. This has nothing to do with her in all reality."

It was a lovely cold sunny morning, and Rosa had woken up next to Mikey. She was getting ready for work when she received a message from Evelyn.

"Good morning, can we have lunch?"

Jose was having breakfast with Evelyn when he got a call from the local hospital that morning.

Jose's heart left his body, and the thought of something happening to one of his daughters terrified him.

"This is her father, is my daughter, okay?"

Evelyn looked at her dad as tears fell from her eyes; she looked at how fast her father got up from the table; she didn't know what to do. He looked back at her and yelled.

"Why the fuck are you still sitting down? Let's go!"

On the way to the hospital, Evelyn sent Mikey a message letting him know about the accident and told him to meet her in the local hospital. When Mikey arrived, Jose questioned who he was and why he was there. When Jose and his daughter got to the hospital, the doctor told them that she was stable, she had a few bumps and bruises, but she was going to be okay. They had her sedated for any swelling to go down.

"I'm sorry, Sr. My name is Mikey and I'm your daughter's boyfriend."

"I called him daddy. He should be here with us."

Jose shook his hand and apologized.

"I'm sorry we met under these circumstances but nice to meet you."

Evelyn was in despair; you saw the sorrow in her eyes. Just when she was going to make things better with her sister, this had to happen. Life wasn't fair. The doctors came to the lobby and told them that Rosa was awake and wanted to see her dad. The doctor told Jose he needed to be easy and not make her talk too much; she was still a bit delicate.
