Falling easily

(NOTE: In Asia, the last name and first name are switched. For example, if your name is Samuel Evens, in Asia, it would be Evens Samuel. I will be doing the same thing for the Asian names in this story.)

I stared at the television, not moving, not blinking, not even daring to breath. The games were close to ending, two against one. Yes, these games happened frequently, but it's not every game your favorite Legend fought.
Eyes riveted, I watched as the action on the TV unfolded. The duo were running, looking for the last one. Then there was a loud bang. Missiles came barreling out of the sky, exploding when they hit the ground. The attacker came out of nowhere and shotgunned the duo. The speakers went off to announce the champion of the game. I jumped up, shouting, and knocking over a lamp in the process.

"Park Jin-Hyo! Just what is going on here?!" My mother had burst into the room, apron flying.

"Nothing Omma (Korean for Mom). I was just watching the games."

"Oh, those horrible games. I don't know why you like them. Just, keep it down. You're 26, for heavens sake."

"Sorry. I'll keep it down."

When my mother left, I quickly turned back to the screen to get a glimpse of the winners, Valkyrie and her teammate, Octane. I didn't care for him though, he was fine but not as cool as her. Grinning to myself, I clicked off the tv and headed into the kitchen where my mom was.

"Are you done shouting now?" She asked, not turning around from the pot she was stirring.

"Haha, yes. It was exciting. My favorite legend won again."

"Hmm."

Seeing that she had no more intention of talking about the games, I left the kitchen and walked out of the house to take a walk. I had barely got off the steps when something big and furry slammed into me. Shaking my head, I barely stood when I was knocked down again.

"Hey, hey, Min, stop it. Stop!"

I shoved the mass away, and quickly got up. A few feet away from me, stood my loyal Siberian Husky named Gwang-Min, or Min, for short.

He looked up at me, with his 2 colored eyes. I smiled. Bending down, I gave him a proper hug.

"Awe boy, I wasn't angry at you. You just scared me. You're a good boy."

Wagging his tail, Min bounded along the path in front of me. I didn't pay much attention though. I spent most of my time that walk looking at the sky, daydreaming. When I got back to my house, it was dark out, and the lights were on. I leaped over the steps and headed inside. My mother came rushing into the hall.

"There you are! You were gone for hours. Where were you?"

"Omma, calm down. I just went for a walk with Min. Nothing happened. I'm not hurt, it's fine."

Once I succeeded in calming my mother down, I walked up the narrow steps to my room upstairs. Once in my room, I closed my door and leaned against it. Same room that I've lived in for my whole life. Usually I welcomed the familiarness, but tonight, I felt as if something was amiss. Glancing around, I quickly noticed a long branch on my desk. I didn't put it there. I cautiously approached the desk. Examining it closer, I realized it was a container holding something of some sort. Then it dawned on me. This was no branch. It was a katana

Attached to the handle, was a red and white card. Picking it up, I looked it over before opening it. Inside in plain black letters, there was a message.

"Congratulations. You are cordially invited to The Apex Games."
