Dropship

The guard lead me out of my room, and up to the very top of the building, where there was a heli-pad. A dropship sat on top of it. It was bigger than I had thought. It is holding all 60 of us. Yes, the three legends are in there too. In a separate compartment so we won't know until we jump.
I stepped on the ship and sat down next to the young girl I met when I first got here. She was looking at the tv screen in the corner, the one that will announce the team's. The countdown has already started. 30 more seconds until I find out who I'm with.

I count the seconds as they tick off. 29, 28 27. Someone next to me is fidgeting, obviously nervous. 22, 21, 20. I tap my fingers on my leg. 18, 17, 16, 15. Almost there. 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6. Just a few more. 3, 2, 1.

The screen goes black for a minute before announcing the teams. Each squad shows for about 10 seconds before moving to the next one. I start to zone out a bit.  40 seconds later, the fidgety kid next to me pokes me. He points to the screen. I look at it. It's me and two other people. The young girl who talked to me before entering the syndicate, and the 40 year old man I first noticed when arriving on the train.

I see them sitting against the wall. The man motions for me to join them. I make my way through the others and sit down next to the man, Min at my feet. I'll strap him on my back before we jump.

The man extends his hand. "Haven't seen much of you these past two weeks. My name is Joey.  Pleasure to be on the same team as you."

I shake his hand. "Same to you."

The young girl gives me a small smile. "I'm Rose."

I nod back to her. The man was about to say something, but then a guard steps in the ship.

"Alright, we just showed you what teams you'll be on. Hopefully, you're already sitting together. Makes my job easier. Up until now, we just called you by your training numbers. Now, we need to know what to call you in the arena, cause to call you by numbers is confusing for the viewers."

He walked around, getting people's names. Many people used their real name. Makes sense, Their face is uncovered and they have nothing to hide. But me, I don't show my face in the arena, and I don't want to tell my real name. For my mother's sake.

When the guard reaches my group, they both tell him their names. Then the guard looks at me.

I pause for a minute before saying, "Agimar."

The guard writes it down before moving on.

Agimar. My father's name. It signifies a powerful and a mighty fighter, someone I must be now. Someone I am, since I'm not about to go down easily for these people.
