Vampire knight chapter 13

"Sarah"

I do not own a vampire knight. I only own Sarah, Viola, Cortland, and some plot. Thank you!

Chapter 13

"Sarah"

Viola pulled her uniform winter jacket over her shoulders and picked up her guardian badge, slipping it onto her slim arm.

Earlier today she had been attacked by a 'level E' and Sarah was the one to save her. It's had been quite a strange day for Viola. Now that she also shared a room with Sarah, things will be more interesting than usual. Although she hasn't heard from Sarah since Viola has shown her to their room, she knew one place she might be.

Slipping out the door she ran outside and avoided the other day class girls, Viola halted.

She had just run without a problem? Her lungs didn't burn the usual way they do after strenuous activity. She shook her head, it was a question to ask herself another time, right now she has a mission. Crossing the bridge to the night class dorms, a few night class members were in the outside shaded areas but gave her no attention seeing as they saw her for patrol anyways. Making her way inside she saw Aido lounging on the couches they had with his cousin. They seemed bored and only glanced up when Aido heard the door close.

"Viola?" Aido stood up and walked over "have you come to relieve me of my boredom!~" he smirked and played with Viola's badge.

Viola nudged his handoff. "Actually, I'm looking for Cortland..have you seen her?" Viola asked.

Aido put a finger to his mouth. "Hmmm, I'm not sure.~"

Akatsuki hummed in annoyance "Stop playing with her Hanabusa." He looks at Viola "She's in her room. You know where that is, right?" He asked. Viola nodded. "I remember headmaster telling me." She turned and started up the railing but stopped and looked back at the two. "Ah, thanks Akatsuki." Viola started up the stairs again.

"Ehh! I helped too Viola-chan!" Aido pouted and slouched back on the couch. Viola giggled and turned around the corner, the two now out of sight.

Knocking on Cortlands door, Viola could hear a yelp and frantic whispers before Cortland hastily pulled the door open. She looks frazzled.

"Oh goodness!" Cortland let out a relieved sigh "it's only you, Viola." Cortland fixed her hair and stood to the side, allowing Viola to enter. "How can I help you, Viola? Does the headmaster need me again?" Cortland questioned.

 Viola looked around the room.

Things had been neatly placed in their spots except for one spot. A closet with the door slightly ajar was moving and Viola could faintly see Sarah's outline. "I'm here for Sarah actually," Viola stated and strutted over to the ajar closet door.

Sarah gave Viola a lopsided grin and jumped up. "Hey, Viola! What can I do for you~?" Sarah chuckled nervously.

 Viola's eyebrow twitched.

"Well for one, day class students are not allowed in the night dorms,"

Sarah scratched her neck and lightly giggled as if this was new news to her.

"Two" Viola came closer to Sarah and whispered, "I want to know why you were in the village."

Sarah laughed. "Oh that. I'm a vampire hunter silly. I was on an assignment and you just happened to be there." Sarah explained.

"That's all? Does the headmaster know?" Viola asked Sarah.

Sarah nodded "He's the one who told me. I mean he is THE ex-vampire Hunter. How could I refuse!" Sarah laughed at Viola's confused look.

"Really? I wonder why he never told Yuki or me?" Viola said annoyed.

The headmaster was an ex-Hunter? It was really hard to believe with his happy personality (author note: good god it was hard to figure out the proper word).

Viola shook her head in thought. No way, Sarah had to have been thinking of someone else. Headmaster didn't seem like the hunter type, well at times he did have his moments but other than that... I mean, he wears a shawl for goodness sake!

"Anyways." Sarah turned around before stopping. " ah! I almost forgot to tell you, Viola." Sarah remembers and smiled sadly. "Cortland and I are only here for a little while. We are planning on leaving at the winter break." Sarah explained.

"What? Really? Why?" Viola answered questioningly.

Sarah sighed "It not like we have a choice really. Cortlands father's company is having him transferred to America and since I watch over Cortland I'm expected to go with her." Sarah explained, rubbing her temples. "We'll be back to visit every so often, but..".

An awkward silence stood in the air.

"And the headmaster knows?" Viola sighed.

Sarah nodded. "He knew from the beginning that our stay was never permanent." She answered.

Viola smiled. "Well. Let's make do with the time we have, yes?" Viola grabbed Sarah's hand. "And you need to stop running away to places you shouldn't go." Viola dragged the girl out of the door. Sarah gulped and nodded. Cortland watched as Sarah turned to look back as Viola dragged her away and smiled.

A filler before we get back to the main story. Yes, Cortland and Sarah were never permanent only because they are extremely hard for me to write into the plot and because I like to focus more on Viola and her school life in Vampire knight with no distractions.
