Chapter One
"The beginning"

Hello! My name is Sydney and this is my very first Vampire Knight Fanfiction. Actually, now that I think about it, it's also my very first fanfiction ever! I've been a big fan of Vampire Knight since I was 12 years old and I still am today!~ Sorry if anything I write down is incorrect. Ahhh anyway, I really hope that the first part does well! I've been slaving away to make the other chapters as well. This first part might be a little short but as I continue to make more chapters they should get longer.I'm so excited really! Feedback is loved and I hope that you enjoy the first chapter!
I don't own Vampire Knight, just Viola. Also, the plotline isn't mine. Only certain parts. (Obviously)
On another note: Do you guys like Bucky Barnes for the Avengers? Cus I thinks he's precious. ヾ(@⌒ー⌒@)ノ What do you think about him? Too kawaii to be or what?

On the eventful day that Yuki was saved by Kaname, a thousand miles away another person found a new home. Her short curly black hair was dirty and speckled with glistening, warm, red blood. She had been brought to Kain Cross by a member of the vampire association as an emergency contact under the hopes that he could watch over her. Of course, he didn't turn her away and a week later decided to adopt her.
The girl was extremely shy towards him and wouldn't answer his questions, and the association had only left him with a small understanding of what had happened. Cross did know who she was though. Her parents had been close to him and they had been family friends for a long time. Her name was Viola.
When Kaname arrived at Kaiens with Yuki and introduced himself and Yuki to Viola she finally broke out of her shell. The two girls got along extremely well. They would hold each other's hands and stick together like glue. They spoke in whispers only to each other while slowly becoming closer, supporting each other. Eventually, the small family grew and a young boy joined them. They were not the most conventional family, but they had each other and that's all they cared about. Zero and Viola would play games together and Yuki and she liked to go outside and read. For a while, it was all okay.
On a sunny afternoon, Viola and Yuki had been outside for too long. Viola had just been reading when bright red blood dripped onto the manga she had been holding. Yuki and her immediately when to Cross. It happened again but this time followed by a massive headache and a spout of dizziness. It became apparent to the small family that something was wrong with Viola. They later found out she very likely had high blood pressure and began to treat her for it, but it was obvious this was something the young girl would be living with for a long while.

-present-
Viola was looking down at her half-eaten eggs on her plate. Her mind drifting as she thought about what she was going to do today. There was a new book series she wanted to get from the local village library soon, and she needed to pester Zero into going with her. Yuki would probably want to come as well since they both had been waiting for it to be released in Japan for a long while.
Yuki stared at her sister and let out a tired sighed. Viola was once again lost in thought and it seemed like the girl wasn't going to be initiating conversation this morning. Yuki looked at the plain wooden clock on the wall. They had an hour before they really had to get moving, so she got up and loudly pushed her chair in.
SCREEECH
"Viola I'm going to go ahead and get ready so please eat and join me! No more lollygagging!" and the short brown-haired girl left the kitchen.
Viola smiled and picked up her fork. Yuki was such a mother. "Yes, mooom."
After scarfing down her plate of eggs and toast, she got up and went to the shared bathroom to get ready as well. 'The faster I get ready, the earlier I can drag everyone to town today.'
Getting out of the shower, the young pale girl put on a nice pair of black shorts and a red crop top before starting to blow-dry her chin-length midnight black hair. Styling it into her usual space buns with red ties she opened the door and almost slammed it right into Zeros face.
"Hey! Watch it!" He shoved past Viola "I'd like to keep my nose on my face"
She stuck her tongue out and went to go find Yuki.

"I still don't know how you were able to convince Zero to tag along with us Vi." Yuki giggled and looped her arm around her sister's arm, dragging them both to the front of a store.
I was just thinking the same thing, Yuki. He thought back to the guilt card Vi had pulled on him and groaned. This was the last way he wanted to spend his Sunday.
The shop the two girls were looking into was full of bright-colored summer clothes and parasols with the name 'Summer Sale' on a hanging sign. The clothes looked more suited from Yuki than her Viola, whose closet was mostly blacks and pops of other colors.
"I have my ways, and they always work" Viola pushed them past the store to a small bookstore that seemed to be a lot more crowded than usual. "Ahh finally, I thought that we would never get here!" the black-haired girl scowled at Zero "You walk like a tortoise"
"I didn't have to come you know, I can turn around now and leave!" I teased knowing I wouldn't.
Viola gasped playfully, covering her mouth "Oh no!! Whatever will we do?"
Yuki chuckled and pushed open the door, a small bell rang and someone greeted the trio as the two girls made a bee-line for a crowd, leaving him awkwardly standing in the store. They shoved forward and finally pulled out a copy of "A winter of red" an ongoing popular book series.
"Why do you even bother reading this crap?" I murmured and looked at a copy next to the register. Yuki pulled out some cash and paid for the book. "It's not crap Zero! It's a romantic series about the struggles of living with an incurable curse." Yuki blushed and hugged the item close to her chest and skipped out of the store "The main character was about to get the healing kiss from his love, but the villain kidnapped the girl and erased her memories while also making her a normal commoner!" Yuki squealed and hugged Viola "It's so sad and romantic and there nothing not to get excited about and finally we have the last book in the series!" I watch as Viola struggled to get the excited girl's iron grip from cracking her spine.
I regret even asking. "I want to go get Ramen, it's only fair since you guys got to go to your place." and I made my way to the familiar restaurant the next block over.
"Zero, wait up!" I turned around and held the door open as the two finally caught up and scooted inside.
--Later back at the academy--
--Viola pov--
"I'm not even hungry dad! Zero made us eat, like, an hour agoooo.." I laid my head on the wooden kitchen table groaning. I puffed my cheeks out and looked over at the empty seat Zero usually sits in. "And that jerk isn't even here! Why do Yuki and I have to?" I sat up and look at my sister for help.
"I could eat again, I didn't want to eat there anyway." Yuki piled her plate high with rice. Dad's eyes sparkled with happiness." Come on Vi- Vi! Just one bite!" He held a spoon with curry and rice in front of me. A big dumb grin on his face.
"Finnnne!!" I took the spoon and ate.
"Yay! Tell me how good it is Vi-Vi!" He sang out while getting a plate for himself.
I felt my eyebrow twitch "How many times do I have to tell you! Don't call me Vi-Vi! I'm not 10 anymore!" I quickly finished the plate and excused myself.
It was the end of my peaceful weekend and all I wanted to do now was curl up in bed and sleep.
