"Oh my..." Violet stared down at the child he had just given birth to. The nurse had placed him in her hands after washing him and dressing him up. The baby looked so perfect... His skin was pearly and his eyes a bright sky blue. He had no hair but that didn't matter, he'd grow some soon.He was so delicate in Violet's arms. So perfect. She would never be able to take care of him properly. She was only 16 and had no experience whatsoever.
She was in so much pain right now that she started crying. She held her baby closer to her chest and kissed his forehead. She had wanted to start a family at some stage in her life. But this... This was too early, too sudden. She was too young to take care of him. She still had school to finish, college to go to, a job to find, a house to buy... How will she be able to balance her school life with her personal life? This was all too much for her.
"Hey, honey.." her mother whispered. "Don't cry, love." She sat down beside Violet on the hospital bed and hugged her and kissed her forehead. She combed Violet's hair with her hand. "Is everything alright?"
"I..." Violet paused for a moment. What is she going to say? That she incapable of taking care of her own son? She sighed. "I just don't know how will I cope with all of this."
"Oh, honey..." her mother let out a soft laugh. "You have me! I'll help you. That's what I'm here for. I know I never was in your life much, but I will be from now on. That is, if you want me too." There was a hint of sadness when her mother said the last sentence.
"Of coruse I want you to, mom. Why would I not? Honestly, I do need help with all of this." She smiled at her mother.
"It will be difficult," she replied. "Life not easy. For anyone. But I'll help you getback to school, find a college and I will take care of my grandson when you'll be away at school or whatever."
Violet started crying again. Tears of happiness and tiredness. "I love you, mom."
Her mother stiffened for a moment. "I... I love you too, Violet."

It has been 3 days since Violet had given birth to her son whom she had decided to name Matthew. She was finally allowed to go home after all the tests have been ran to see if her soon was born healthy.
Thank God he was.
Violet was never a religious person, but ever since what had happened to her 9 months ago, she had been parying every night that everything will turn out just fine. She needed someone to turn to, something to believe in. She had no clue if God even existed, but he had been her hope through these hard times.
Violet looked down at the baby in the buggy that her mother had bought her few days ago. It was her baby. He had come from her womb. Her son. He was asleep. He looked so delicate. So innocent..
Violet felt tears starting to form in her eyes. She couldn't cry. She needed to stay strong. For herself. For her son.
She wiped her tears away as she walked out of the hospital pushing the buggy with her son in it. Her mother just drove into the parking lot and waved to Violet. Violet waved back.
She looked down at her son. "I will never let anyone hurt you,' she whispered in his ear. "Never.."
