The last day of August passed, Hermione refusing to leave her room. She locked the door with multiple charms and hid in her room the whole day. Eleanor and Blaise tried to talk to her through the door but Hermione didn't answer back, even Michael came to talk to her.

It was the night before September and she was sitting by her window, staring down at the field. She heard a small pop behind her and turned her head, a copy of the daily prophet was on her desk. She sat up straight and took out her wand, bringing the paper to her. She stared at the front cover as the picture repeated itself. She looked up at the headline:

ZABINI BIRTHDAY PARTY - GONE WRONG
- Rita Skeeter

She glanced back down at the picture, watching her fist collide with Ron's face. She had completely forgotten that there was reporters at the party. She put her wand in her lap and began to read through the article. It mentioned the cakes turning into bats, and how they targeted only Ron and Lavender. Than how Ron stormed over to their table, and began yelling, and how Blaise and his two friends stood to 'defend her'. At the end of the paragraph, it had everything Ron had said, up until the moment Hermione punched him.

Hermione glared at the paper as she kept reading, the scene replaying in her head.

After Hermione Granger (Zabini) left the Ball room, a fight broke out between Blaise Zabini and Ron Weasley. Apparently Ron Weasley claimed that his new girlfriend, Lavender Brown, is more 'Likeable and isn't a stuck-up B*tch'. Blaise Zabini kicked Weasley in the face and the fight began. The hosts of the party, Eleanor and Michael Zabini quickly got involved and separated them. The party ended right after but we managed to get a word with one of the guests.

Ronald Weasley had been cheating on Hermione Granger (Zabini) with Lavender Brown.

Hermione's mouth fell open, did Blaise really get into a fight with Ron over her? She smiled at the paper, her hand covering her mouth as she let out a small laugh. She didn't know how much she missed having a brother, Harry had taken up that spot long ago. But having someone defend her against Ron made her heart happy. As she put down the news paper, she heard a knock on the door.

"Come in"She called. "Maybe let down all the wards first"She heard a voice. She rolled her eyes and brought up her wand, vanishing them all. The door opened and Pansy poked her head in the room. "We thought you died"Pansy told. "I needed to be alone" Hermione said, sitting up straight. "What do you need?"She asked.

"What do I need? I need to drag you out of here so you won't be a depressed puppy"Pansy scoffed.

"I don't want to see anyone"Hermione groaned as Pansy walked over. "Why not? We've spent two weeks together, what's another 2 hours"Pansy rolled her eyes as she pulled Hermione by her arm.

"Most of you don't even like me"Hermione told, holding on to the arm of the chair as Pansy tried to drag her out. "Don't be dramatic"Pansy scoffed, finally pulling her up. "I'm still in my pyjamas, can I at least change?"Hermione asked, holding onto anything to not be dragged out of her room. "No, you're gonna lock yourself in your bathroom"Pansy said, getting Hermione out of her room. "I'm in silk shorts and a t-shirt and my hair's a mess! They'll never let me live it down!"Hermione cried, trying to go back to her room.

Pansy groaned pulling out her wand and putting a spell on Hermione's hair. "There, a bun. You aren't going back to your room"Pansy said. She muttered something under her breath and Hermione watched her shorts transfigure themselves into sweatpants. Pansy grabbing her arm again and dragged her down to the living room. She stopped in front of the doors, glancing at Hermione before she opened the door.

The people in the living room looked up, some staring longer than others. "How'd you get her out? Mother has been trying nearly every hour"Blaise said, sitting up straight in his chair. "Something in the daily prophet seemed to lighten her mood"Pansy told, walking over to one of the couches and sitting down. Hermione stayed at the door, just wanting to sleep so she could get up early the next morning.
