Ch 7:Progression

Kai Pov

I made it back to town on Solgaleo's back and noticed that everyone had finished and made an actual town. I hopped off Solgaleo and went to see Ruby.

Ruby:Hey Kai.

Kai:Hey.

Ruby:What's up?

Kai:Well... I was seeing if any missions have popped up since I left.

Professor S.:Well... not really if you mean missions where you catch more kid friendly Pokémon.

Kai:I can handle that.

Professor S.:Well. I'll show you how to set up the portal so later on so you can find new worlds to catch more new Pokémon.

I nodded.

Kai:Alright.

Professor Sakura showed me how to set up the portal then I went on through on to my newest adventure. On my way to the new world I saw the space around me started to glitch. As I looked around I saw a weird figure flying towards me.

Then with the glitch it disappeared.

Kai (😧)What fuck was that?

Just then I landed in the new world were like the one where I met all the Legendarys was like a fallout like waist land.

I walked around looking for anything that could possibly act as a Pokémon, but I barely found a thing. When I couldn't find anything I started to think about that thing that flew towards me in the space between here and my world. What was that thing? Why did it seem hostile towards me. Those thoughts subsided when I had something run into my leg. I looked down to see a little something which I can only assume is a Pokémon.

It seemed to act somewhat friendly towards me, but I don't know what it is. I've never seen it in the national Pokédex or ever on TV while watching Pokémon Planet. It pulls my pants leg like it wants me to follow it. I walked forward following shortly behind as it leads me to a building. I went to open the door but it seem to budge. I kicked the door but all I did was give my leg a cramp. The small metal Pokémon walked up to the door and it seemed to eat away at the metal lock. I turned the knob and it opened. Inside was a small lab of some kind with a desk, computer, and plenty of papers all over the place. The small Pokémon lead me to the desk and points at the papers. I pick them up to see that the papers are research notes about this little guy. They're called Meltan. I read the possible Pokédex entries.

Professor Jessie (Redacted) Pokédex entry: It dissolves and eats metal. Circulating liquid metal within its body is how it generates energy.

Professor James (Redacted) Pokédex entry: They live as a group, but when the time comes, one strong Meltan will absorb all the others and evolve.

I looked at Meltan who seemed to blink then smile at me. I smiled back and pet the little steel type Pokémon.

Kai:Well you and I have a long day ahead of us huh buddy?

Meltan let out a little squeak as it pulled my hand towards the door.

Kai:Alright. Let me put these papers into my PC then we'll go.

I opened my PC then transfer the papers to my PC.

Kai:Alright. Lead the way.

It lead me outside then it seemed to call out to something or... someone. Just then a whole bunch of Meltan came running towards us in the distance.

Kai:Well color me impressed.

I scratched the back of my head as they came over to the Meltan's call. The Meltan I was following explained everything to the other ones they all nodded, so I opened the portal and let them all through. The Meltan that I followed was surrounded by other Meltan, and they all seemed happy. I chuckled at the sight then caught them all. I relocated the portal to the lab then walked through.

Professor S.:So how'd it go?

Kai:I found a totally new species of Pokémon.

Professor S.:Lets see it.

I threw out my new metal friend.

Professor S.:That's a new Pokémon alright. What's it called?

Kai:The notes I read said it's called Meltan.

Professor S.:Do you have the notes?

I opened my PC and then gave her the notes.

Professor S.:Fascinating. I'll start my research on them right away. Until then... can I borrow this one?

Kai:Yeah.

I gave her the Pokeball and then went outside to see the town. I was shocked to see a prospering town with people and Pokémon getting along. It brought a smile to my face as I watched the Pokémon that Ruby, Jack, and I brought back getting along with humans. I still want to know what what was with that thing I saw in between universes.
