Loki POV:
This mortal intrigues me. She acts like she hates my guts and everything about me. I mean, let's be honest, this is me we're talking about.
But I've come to realise, no matter how much I hate it, the mortal isn't that different to me. Of course I'm better and more advanced. I am a God after all. But this mortal is different than all the ones I've met before. She feels pressured - trapped under her father's reputation. She doesn't even realise what she's truly capable of. She needs a teacher. Someone who can help channel her powers. Someone powerful. She's got the potential to be great. We could be a force to be reckoned with. If only she trusted me...These plans are strictly strategic of course. I don't even care about this mortal. It's just that her powers could be great under my hands, and if she trusts me, then I can manipulate her into using her powers for me. Like I said, this all a plan. I'm not going to get attached to a puny mortal...
Will I?
Y/n POV:
Next dayI wake up and get ready for the day ahead. I try to ignore what Loki said yesterday, about being like him. I never have and never will be like him. I guess it just means that I'm doing a great job on my mission, fooling him and everything. I mean, what do you expect? I am a Stark after all.
I walk downstairs and pour myself a strong cup of coffee. It's not until now that I realise how tired I am. The training last night must have really drained all my energy.
As I sip my coffee, Loki stumbles into the kitchen. I try to avoid his gaze as he pours himself some coffee as well.
"I'm honestly surprised." Loki says, breaking the silence.
I arch an eyebrow, urging him to continue.
"Your powers are... powerful. We truly could be an amazing force to be reckoned with. We could make Midgard pay..." he said slowly, almost as if he's trying to figure out what to say.
"Yeah, um, I'm good. I prefer to stay under the radar, unlike you who likes making a show of it whenever you grace us with your presence." I finish my coffee and put the mug in the dishwasher. "If you want to make a big show of being on Earth, or as you like to call it, Midgard, be my guest."
I turn to leave the kitchen but Loki blocks the way out. I glare at him as he just smirks back.
"Move."
"What if I don't want to?" He challenges me, a smirk toying on his face.
I sigh and roll my eyes. "What do you want, Loki?"
"You're powers are powerful and you need a mentor. If I teach you how to control your powers, you'll help me make my father and brother pay, sound like a plan?." He says.
"You mean non-father and non-brother?" I say, arching an eyebrow, challenging him.
Loki looks taken aback for a moment but quickly regains himself.
"Well, yes. How did you know?"
"I have my sources," I smile "I'll think about your offer." And with that, I push past him.
As I push past him, he grabs my wrist and pulls me closer to him, so his lips are brushing against my ear, sending chills down my spine. I try to ignore the chills. He's my mission.
"I know you could've teleported up to your room instead of listening to what I have to say. I stand by what I said last night. You and I aren't so different." He whispers in my ear, shooting another set of chills down my spine.
He lets go of my wrist and allows me to go upstairs to my room to think.
I have a feeling that my plan's going perfectly...
