Arc-1 Chapter-16: Arc 1 Epilogue

    "Amazing, Daikichi-kun, it is all over the internet!"

    "Look, Yukiho, it says something like, 'As we come to the second half of the series, the ratings are continuing to rise! Will it ever hit the ceiling? or will it continue forever?'"

    We couldn't stand it any longer so we did a lot of research on the internet about our show such as ratings and feedback. This is commonly known as "Egosurfing"

    "Looks like the President's assessment was spot on."

    "That's right. This is so worth all the trouble they put me through!"

    The most interesting part was the scene where the meadow saffron appeared, and the fact that I, a normal person, was explaining it with a serious face gave the viewers a "real scare," as the title of the program suggests.

    Moreover, the star of the show is Takamine Yukiho, who is known as the number one young Idol, who was in a harsh environment. Which got a lot of reactions like, "Oh NO!" and "I'm on the edge!"

    Of course, not all the feedbacks were positive, some claims that the whole thing is a "Hoax" and there're some idiots who just posted mindless words. However, such negative feedbacks were nothing more than background noise.

    That's the kind of response the show got.

    Yukiho showed me her phone.

    The girls in my age group were all praising me saying I looked so cool protecting Yukiho and that I'm very knowledgeable in survival. A famous model even said, "I wish I had a boyfriend like him." Even though I know it's all flattery I couldn't help but feel happy.

    The President is in an incredibly good mood, so much so I had to move the phone 30cm (11 inches) away from my ear because of how loud he is.

    "Your leadership has been very successful, thank you very much."

    "Don't be silly. It's thanks to Daikichi-kun's good judgment. At this rate, it will be flawless at least until episode 4, which has already been edited. Keep up the good work! The guy who won Yukiho Takamine is no ordinary guy! You're the king of the ratings!"

    I smile bitterly.

    That night, Yukiho and I ate a lot of food at a fancy steak restaurant. The Chateaubriand was the most delicious part of the steak, and we ate it all. We ate as if it was an all-you-can-eat meal, and the bill came to over one million yen.

    "What's with all this? That's cheap, you guys."

    The president smiled as he handed the black card to the clerk. However, there were tears in his eyes.

　Yukiho and I have graduated from high school and started to live together.

    I got into a famous university through an AO exam, but I didn't attend. My work went so well that I had no time for school.

    The show is a huge hit with both men and women of all ages, and the popularity rating is at #1 constantly. Recently, there has been some talk about inviting junior members of our agency to be our guests. Many celebrities are willing to take the risk to appear on our show.

    Meanwhile, most of the desert island programs started by other stations had been canceled. They couldn't keep us with us, it lacked both thrill and excitement.
