CHAPTER 18 - kiss at concert

i start driving to the concert place, looking at hailee. "last show hailee, how you feeling?" i say, stopping at a red light. "nervous, excited." hailee says, smiling at me. i smile back, looking at the road. "don't be nervous, you'll kill it." i say, starting to drive again. "i agree." jill says.

10 minutes in, i look at hailee again, staring. i quickly looks back on the road as she looks at me. i head her giggling, and i smile slightly, getting my right hand and placing it on her thigh, hailee putting her hand over mine.

we enter the concert, and i smile at hailee, and she smiles back. "let's check out the stadium." she says, holding my hand. she guides us to the backstage room, opening the door. "wowzers." i say, looking around the massive stadium. hailee chuckles in surprise, letting go of my hand. "all of this is for you, hailee!" i say, looking around. "amazing, isn't it?" she replies, spinning around to look at the stadium.

"want a photo?" i ask, taking off my lens protector. i move back, aiming the camera at hailee, getting the empty stadium in it. she puts 2 peace signs up, closing her eyes and smiling. i take the photo, raising the camera down when i'm done. hailee runs up to me, looking at my screen too. "cutie." i mumble to myself. "what did you say?" hailee says, smiling at me. "hm?" i say, looking at her. "did you call me cute?" she says. "yeah, why?" i ask, confused. hailee smiles wider, leaning towards me. she connects her lips with mine, and i kiss her back, pulling away after a few seconds.

"hey guys!" i say, walking across the barricade after taking the meet and greet photos, screams filling my ear. "y/n!" "i love you so much!" "can we take a picture?" a girl asks, and i smile, stopping at her. "sure thing." i say, and she smiles widely, giving me her phone. i extend my arm, getting the girl and her friends in frame, smiling under my mask. i take about 5 photos handing her phone back to her.

"so..." hailee says out of breath after her last song ends. "this is my last show!" she says, taking a few breaths. "and i'm gonna miss you guys so much... you have no idea!" she says as the crowd cheers massively. "and i wanted to say i love you all so, so, so, so much!" she yells. "so before i go, i just wanted to honor y/n up here, because she's been here with me this whole journey!" she says, offering her hand to me. i quickly walk to the stairs, walking up it. "hey y/n." she says, away from the mic. "hey hailee." i say, smiling. "mind taking a photo?" she says, smiling back. "of course." i say, walking to the back of the stage. i bring the camera to my eye, and hailee puts both her hands out, smiling. i take 3 photos, putting the camera down.

"jlll!" hailee says into the mic and jill runs out, and hailee reaches up both her hands to my neck, taking off my camera. "can you take a photo of us?" hailee says, handing my camera to her. "yeah, of course." jill says, smiling as she takes it. hailee puts her microphone down, pulling me to the front of the stage. the crowd cheers and hailee takes my hands, looking into my eyes. "do you wanna..." hailee says, looking at my lips and back at me. "if you wanna." i say, smiling. hailee let's go of my hands, wrapping them around my neck. "ready?" i say, placing my hands on her waist. "ready." she says, leaning up to my face. i smile, leaning in as our lips connect. i close my eyes and she crowd cheers, hurting my ears a little.

"can't believe we did that." hailee says, backstage. "i know, crazy." i say, smiling. hailee stops walking to the car, turning to me. i stop walking too, and hailee hugs me around my waist tight, not saying a word. i hug her tight, and we embrace each other for a minute. "thank you for being here with me." she says, letting go of the hug slowly. "wouldn't wanna be here with anyone else." i say, and hailee takes my hand, walking to the car.

5 months later

"y/n l/n and hailee steinfeld everybody!" graham norton exclaims and hailee and i walk out, hand in hand. the crowd cheers, and we sit down next to each other, smiling. "thank you so much for having us!" hailee says, smiling. "of course guys, now you two have blown up everywhere!" graham says, smiling. "it's honestly insane, it's crazy that we've been getting so much love for, well... loving each other." i say, smiling at hailee.

"now... this picture got millions of likes." graham says, pressing a button on his tv, showing the picture jill took of hailee and i kissing in front of thousands. i smile widely, looking at hailee for a second, seeing her smile too. "first time you guys went public, how did it feel?" he says, and i look at hailee and she looks at me, wanting to answer the question. "it was... nerve racking. but also the most amazing feeling ever." i chuckle, continuing. "i still remember the day, hailee even asked me before if i was comfortable being public, it's one of the things i most admire about her... how she puts other's feelings before herself's." i say, smiling. the crowd 'aww's', making me chuckle. "cringe, i know." i say sarcastically, smiling at hailee. she nudges my shoulder, and i laugh again.

"that was fun!" i say, walking to the penthouse elevator, hailee skipping beside me. i press the elevator door open, and hailee and i walk in. i look at myself in the mirror, fixing my hair. "watch out!" hailee says, jumping onto my back. stumble a bit, impulsively putting my hands on her ass, hailee taking out her phone. she poses in the mirror and i smile, hailee putting her phone away after. i look to the left, looking out at the city out the big elevator window. "pretty, huh?" i say, still holding her. "yeah." she says, wrapping her arms around my neck. "i've got a better view that's in front of me." hailee says. "what, my head?" i laugh, and hailee lightly smacks my head.

a/n - okay i'm gonna end this series here bc i kinda have nothing else to write about here BUT i'm gonna start writing another kate bishop one and other characters in high school which will be a lot better than this :)
