"We can't just sit and do nothing!"

"What do you want me to do? That kid is right, we have no good evidence, and with nobody willing to talk, we have to let them go."

"But..."

"There is nothing, we have to, it is unfortunate but...it is how things are. You know that just as much as I do."

"But..."

"Enough, let them go."

"I...I just think that maybe we should question them a bit further." The smaller cop insisted. The larger one just shook his head.

"There is not much that we can do. We can keep the father at least for a little longer, but we cannot keep the kids with us. You and I both know the protocol. We can let the kids go, along with their godfather. Barring that, we can keep their father for at least another couple of hours, but we have no reason to hold the kids, especially since their godfather is here to pick them up." The other cop forwned, but nodded. They really did have no reason.

"I Just...I know that there is more to this situation. You saw how that man was acting! How the kid was acting when we first got them...there is definitely more to this I know that there is."

"I know, I am more than aware of the situation, but there is nothing that we can do right now for them. We can leave them with our cards if you really feel that strongly about it, but outside of that, we cannot interfere any further."

Draco jolted, only being held back by Tom when the door opened again. Draco relaxed into the elder, but glared at the door as the police continued to walk through it. He did not want to even begin to look at them, and all but jumped for joy when he heard that they were being allowed to leave. It was a good thing, he did not want to be here any longer. Furthermore he was liable to miss the feast if they continued on like this.

"Your...guardian, Severus I think they said their name was,"

"My godfather." Draco stated, a drawn look in his eyes as he stared at the police in disregard. "His name is Severus Snape. You should know, I am sure you questioned him as well, did you not?" The police did not answer his question, but Draco did not need them to. He already knew the answer. They had, and a part of him wanted to be angry at that, but he just calmed himself. He would have to think this through rather carefully. He did not want to relive anything that could get him dragged back. He wanted to be gone from this stupid muggle building. It felt cramped and uncomfortable.

"Yes, well, he is going to be taking you."

"What about my father?" Draco asked immediately. Tom placed a sharp, nail filled grip on his upper arm as he pulled Draco back into him, and wrapped his arm around his waist. Draco did not wince, but he caught onto the implication that Tom did not want him to speak more. Reluctantly, he kept silent, not continuing as he wished to do so, but really these muggle police thinking that they can manipulate him, can just drag him wherever they want? He did not like it. Not at all. They thought they could go up against his father because of some nosy muggles not minding their own business? He was definitely not pleased.

"We are going to be continuing to question him." Draco moved to speak, but Tom hummed softly under his breath and reigned Draco in effortlessly. He huffed, breathing coming out in slight pants of annoyance as he controlled the heavy weight of emotions.

"Thank you for your time," Severus finally came and cut into the police officers. "I will be taking things from here, if you do not mind." His tone suggested Severus cared very little over whether they minded or not, he was going to take the two either way.

"Yeah, alright. Go on." Draco pulled Tom slightly towards the door, hesitating as he glanced at the muggles, distaste in his features before turning on his heel and moving away from them towards where Severus had turned and was walking away from the room. He did not want to loose track of his godfather, though he knew that Severus was unlikely to walk so fast that he could not keep up.

The two police officers were staring as they left, a sigh and frown on both of their lips.

"There is something...off about that boy."

"Which one?"

"The dark haired one. Didn't you notice?" The taller rolled his eyes.

"Notice what?"

"I thought you were supposed to be more observant than myself." The smaller teased, but stopped laughing when the taller merely glared at them. "I just mean, did you notice? That Draco kid was up in ends about everything. Yet, that Tom had no issue regulating him and stopping him from doing something rather drastic. I was sure for a moment that the blonde was going to launch a verbal sparring session."

"I did notice that, but...remember, now is not the time. We have a father to continue questioning."

"It is not just that but...there...they seem to have only known each other for a few months, yet they are so close so quickly? Does none of that seem a little bit suspicious to you?"

"Yes, it does, but I am sure you can remember bonds that are formed in unsafe and unstable environments tend to grow quickly and without reasoning. That Tom seems to have a good head on his shoulders. He is good for Draco, even if neither see it yet. I shudder to think what could happen if Tom was not there, or what had happened before. The Father is definitely a piece of work."

"I guess..." The police officer glanced at where the three had long since disappeared. "As a matter of fact, there was something up with that Severus character too."

"I get it, they are a family of oddballs. Can we just start our questioning please? Remember we don't have a long time that we can hold the father."
