I tried to clean the wound on my thigh as best as I possibly could. The sink was small and the bathroom was dirty, but I recognised the privilege and was still thankful.

I walked out of the bathroom and noticed that Ovi was still asleep. And Tyler was staring out of the window, with a scarf tied around his neck supporting his arm. I sighed and when I was about to walk to him, my phone started vibrating. I rapidly grabbed it from the table, not wanting Ovi to wake up, and answered it.

It was Nik.

"Yeah.", I answered.
"You got a chopper. Meet you at the east side of the bridge."

"Copy. We're on the move.", Tyler heard my conversation with Nik. He moved to Ovi and patted his arm.

"Kid. Kid. Hey, come on.", I made sure we hadn't left our phones or weapons and let them out of the abandoned office. I shut the door and started following them.

My thigh was bleeding. The only plausible reason was probably when we jumped off the truck and I landed on broken glass. Tyler was lightly limping as well, but fortunately the kid was alright. I checked the phone again and saw that it was four a.m. It was still dark outside and no one seemed to be awake yet.

We passed a few dumpsters and parked cars, until Tyler stopped behind one. He grabbed the handle and it was open, then he turned to the kid. "Come on. Get in."

Ovi wordlessly walked in. Tyler and I made eye contact and simply nodded to the car. I also entered the car without saying anything. Rake shut the door and started looking for a key, or anything that was going to turn the engine on. He opened the glove department and found a black screwdriver.

I watched him stick the screwdriver in the ignition and with his palm hitting it to get it in. "Come on, you bastard.", he muttered and tried again. I looked up and saw a bike 20 meters away from us. The headlight turned on and the engine reviving.

"Fucking hell.", I said and looked at the door on Ovi's side. "Get out of the car.", I slowly said, my gaze now on the bike. Tyler stopped hitting the screwdriver and looked at the bike as well.

The bike started and I shouted. "Go, go, go!", I pushed Ovi out and jumped out myself, right before it approached us and they started shooting. I covered my head with my hands and then looked at the kid. "Stay there!", I pointed my finger at him and forced myself to get up. "Yeah!", Ovi nodded fearfully and stayed back.

I saw Tyler on the ground near the back of the car. "You didn't just jump out of the rear glass, Tyler.", I muttered and grabbed his good arm, forcing him behind the side of the car. The bike rode past us and then did a U turn.

I leaned against the building and grasped my rifle. I looked at him and noticed him grabbing a thin pole from the ground. "You weren't supposed to use that arm, Rake.", I hissed at him, but he didn't listen.

"Fucking hell, Jane. Stay focused.", I glared at him and moved to my left, our bodies hidden by the car as we were staying low. My rifle in my grasp and my eyes on Rake. The bike started moving again and once it had reached Tyler he threw the pole, so that the bike flipped forward. They were right in front of me.

I looked confused at the two individuals. "Kids?", I stood up and walked over there. One man was holding his leg and the other was the same child Rake had taken the rifle from. Tyler stood behind them and stepped on the rifle the kid was trying to reach. He crouched down and looked at him, shaking his head. The kid kept yelling in his language and the man was groaning in pain.
