This is from @MoonstonesAndMangoes  They posted this, and I want to spread it.

Talking about the russia-ukraine situation (and another closer to home)This entire Russian-Ukrainian conflict is a complex situation because each side is reporting different things while the American media is running in the back on fire screaming "WAAAAAR". I ask of all of you who aren't affected by it: please, don't spread misinformation. Please, don't log onto twitter dot com and post "Omg!! I wonder how this will affect america!!!!!" AND PLEASE, listen to Ukrainian voices. Now, about the other situation closer to home that I mentioned:As most of you know, I live in Guyana. Guyana is technically on the mainland of south america, but is legally considered part of the caribbean community (the same goes for belize). We and our neighbor, venezuela, have been disputing for a very very long time now—since 1958—because of venezuela claiming the Essequibo region, about 70% of Guyana's land, as theirs and calling it "Guayana Essiqiba."There has been talk of an invasion of Guyana on both sides. We talked about it in school. I have heard it on the news. I am hearing it everywhere. Venezuela doesn't have the resources to attack. There has been a recession there for years. People are dying because they can't afford basic things like water and flour and toilet paper. And, scariest of all, this won't stop them.If Nikolas Maduro wants to go to war, he'll go ahead and do it at the expense of his people. He's done it before. If war breaks out, it will be devastating to us, and devastating to the people of Venezuela, but not him. There have been scares of an invasion before, as recent as 2019. What makes this time different is that strategically, with another war going on that has most of the world's attention, this is the perfect time to attack and Venezuela has no reason not to.So far, nothing has happened. Here it is business as usual. I can only hope it stays that way. If anything happens, I'll let you all know. Stay safe out there, everyone.-Mango
