Mitsuyas POV

We took two cars and hoped those two could drive. That guy Kato was driving whilte Draken sat on the passenger seat, Mikey and I sat in the backseat. We were following the black car in which Baji and Chifuyu were with Kazumi.

„So how do you know Takemichi?" Mikey asked. Somehow it felt like Mikey was seeing Kato as an enemy. He was always looking at them as if they tried to kill him once. „He was my cell buddy in juvie. We got pretty close. After I was released I somehow lost him. I told the heads of Hebi what a great guy Michi is you know. I didn't think much of it. Actually I though they would simply think of him as a simple boy. To think that they would show interest in him..." he didn't need to say more. It was clear for us what he wanted to say with that.

„So it was you who brought Michi in this stupid mafia of yours?!" now Mikey completely lost it. „Kinda. But you know. No one forced him. I simply did what my boss told me to. It was his choice to join us. And after he joined I took over the dangerous job he was supposed to do. I really tried to protect him but he was so eager to be recognize that he even joined dangerous missions. I really tried to hold him back but he said he didn't want to hold us back. I don't really understand what he meant with that though. So tell me. Toman. What did he mean with that? Why is he trying to save everyone before himself like this?" Katos voice changed from cheerful to dangerous cold. It almost sounded like he was threatening us. It was obvious that he was blaming us.

„If I didn't know it better, I would think you blamed us" now it was also Mikey who sounded mad.

„And? Do you know it better?" Kato provoked Mikey. Mikey was about to lose it but I held him back. Knocking Kato out now would be the most stupid move in history of stupid moves.

„Tch, don't look at me like that, blondie. I don't know how you guys managed to do so but Takemichi was at his limit. You know he tried to kill himself once right?" now I was shocked. What? Takemichi tried to kill himself? When? In juvie? Why?

„When I recall correctly it was after the fight against Vallhalla? You're kinda crazy you know? I think you should all take some therapy lessons. Would help you. Especially you, lil blond" But Mikey didn't react to the nickname he received instead he asked „Why? Why would he do something as stupid as that?!" Mikey yelled.

„He was fucking done with you that's it! You all think his efforts are normal! You think it's nothing. Fuck! I hate you. My blood is boiling when I'm thinking about he expression he made when he told me that. You're lucky he loves you guys. If it weren't for his protection I would've killed all of you a long time ago. With all the pressure yiu gave him it was even understandable that he wanted to end it."

Now Mikey was silent again.

„I know that you all have your problems. But you know. Don't call yourself his friends if you don't even know how much it actually hurts him when he tried to save you. It's normal for Takemichi to help you but it's not normal for a human to do so. Everyone else would've just let you die. No one would bother trying to fix you when you keep pushing them away with a cold shoulder and treats."

I could see that Draken was also feeling rather unwell with what Kato just said. Mikey was confused to the point that his expression was showing all kind of emotions.

„A 'thank you' would've been great. Once we get him back. Make sure to show him how thankful you really are. Tell him how grateful you are for what he did. And show him how much you appreciate you are for him to exist in your life." after that Kato was also quiet. It was awkward. I wasn't sure what to say. I felt so bad.

Chifuyus POV

It was quiet so I decided to start a conversation. „I know that you don't like us but thank you for taking us with you" I began. She seemed to be surprised that I said that and smirked. „Sure." with that it was silent again but at least the pressure disappeared.

„He's a great person you know. Not just as a friend or as my subordinate but in general. He know he won't make it but he never disappointed me. He always gives his best. I know that...I don't deserve someone as great as him in my life but...I don't think I want to let go of him anymore" she said.

„So your father is the big boss?" Baji-San asked her. I heard them laugh at it as she answered. „Adoptive. But he is the only family I have besides Kato. I have no one else." „What happens to your real father?" Baji-San! How can you ask something like this?! That's way to personal!

„They threw me on the streets. Years after Hebi took me in I found them. The started a new family in Miyagi. But it's okay. I have my own family." ahhhh! Baji-San! Now the atmosphere is awkward again!

„I see. Sorry for asking." huh? He's strangely caring. „No, it's really fine. But I should warn you about Kato" Kazumi-San then suddenly changed the topic.

„Kato? Seemed like a funny guy" Baji-San said. „I agree. What is there to warn us about? He seemed to be extremely kind" then she burst into laughter.

„Yes...'Kato' is kind. But know that's only a mask he's wearing. Kato does all this for Michi. He actually hates you guys." I could only look at her with shook in my face. What?!

„At the very beginning when Michi joined us he one day passed out. When we called a doctor for him we found out he was starving himself for months. And he had cuts on hist wrist. Many of them. You know what that means right?" We didn't answer. He had cuts on his wrist? He starved himself? Why would he do that? I always thought Takemich was one of the brightest persons on earth. To think that he would do something like this...

„And after hearing his story it was obvious why he did so. It was because of the stress that was caused by saving you guys over and over again without receiving a 'thank you' that reached his heart. It didn't seem like your 'thank you's made up for his pain"

„You know I could forgive you. I know that you truly love him and it was just your nature to be this cold but Kato...well let's say he doesn't really like you. Even a simple mention of you is making his blood boil in anger. So don't be surprised when he can't hold himself back anymore."

„Is there a way we can proof to him that we really like Takemichi?" I asked her. She seemed to be thinking for a while but then said „Well I think the fact that you insist on following us like this should be proof enough. Just make sure to show him how determined you are in saving Michi. Even though I still don't like having you here. The only thing you know is some streets fights but you never shoot a gun before, right?" we both shook our heads.

I wonder how the underworld is really like. I mean I know it from the streets fights but non of them were mafia members. But those guys we are going to fight today are all professional killers. They do it almost everyday. Our fists won't be a big help. I'm scared I might die but I am even more scared of holding them back. In comparison to all of them here I am the weakest. And I don't have this monstrous mental strength like Takemichi. I hope I won't become a burden to them.

I want to save Michi but if I would only hold them back, shouldn't I just stay back?
