“Ah, we meet again, my cemetery friend.”
I couldn’t speak, my mouth opened but closed seconds later as my brain couldn’t form any words. They already knew I was here and I was aware of that. But I didn’t really think we would talk or see each other after they got off that stage. I didn’t know they would actually want to talk to me, and by now I had thought enough to realize I had two options, I could either say hi and after a small conversation I can excuse myself to use the restroom and hope he would leave before I came out, or I could act like an idiot and pretend I have no idea what he’s talking about. Yeah, I think the first one is a way better option.
But of course my mouth ignored the decision my brain made and opted for the second option, “Have we met before?”
The look on his face told me he was just as shocked and confused as I was. I wanted to literally punch myself in the face. I obviously know him, he basically saved me from possibly getting kidnapped or bitten by some animals or insects.
It seemed like I left him speechless as his mouth opened and closed, like mine had just a few moments ago. I racked my brain trying to come up with a cover up to my idiotic outburst. The thinking made my brain hurt a little bit but I finally came up with my answer.
“Just kidding!” I awkwardly laughed, “Hi, Louis.”
I mentally sighed; my life is such an awkward mess.
“Oh, I thought you were serious!” He said the relief clear in his voice. His lips pulled up into a perfect amused smile as he engulfed me in a hug, “Hi, Natalie!”
He remembers my name?
“You remember my name?” I was slightly bewildered at the fact that Louis, a member of the biggest boyband in the world, actually remembered my name. He meets millions of people and it’s my name that’s engraved in his memory. Do you know how many girls would kill just to hear him say their name, let alone remember it the next day?
His eyebrows knitted together in a confused manner, “Yeah? Why wouldn’t I remember it?”
I shrugged, “Dunno, I just didn’t know I was that important.”
“I wouldn’t have saved you if I didn’t want you to become my friend, and I my dear Natalie, do remember my friends names.” He stated. His lips formed a big genuine smile and I myself could feel a smile tugging at my lips.
I smiled, something I rarely did around people I didn’t really know, or guys for that matter. At least not lately. I felt happy at this particular moment, don’t get me wrong, I’m not a depressed person but I usually have this empty feeling inside of me since my grandfather’s passing. I still felt the emptiness but maybe, just maybe Louis’ friendliness made it fill up just a tiny bit.
I slightly frowned as a thought came to me.
“Are you trying to say you would have left me if you didn’t want me as a friend? You would have left me to possibly die?” A small frown was etched on my face, although I know that's not what he meant.
I tried to keep my serious hurt look on but with Louis’ shocked facial expression it was getting slightly harder.
“N-No. Of course I would have saved you… I mean…” He stopped midsentence his words trailing off at the end. I stifled a laugh as he looked up at me.
I guess he caught up on what was going on as he smirked, “I just wouldn’t have taken you home, I only take beautiful girls home, so you’re lucky you have that nice face.” He batted his eyes as he pointed a stiff crooked finger at me, a smirk on his face. He was really attractive (duh) and I couldn't help but smile at him, a chuckle following after.
