"Wow, I can't believe it's really you," Nathan exclaimed.

I was still in a bit of shock and all I could do was faintly nod. I just can't believe that he's standing here. I don't know what I expected really, I've seen plenty of pictures and we've facetimed and Skype'd plenty of times, too.

He seemed different than through a phone and computer screen, they really didn't do him any justice. Standing at 5'11", with deep brown eyes and wavy brown hair, Nathan was simply beautiful. And I would be lying if I said I wasn't completely intimidated at the moment.

"Yeah, well here I am, and there you are," I smiled.

"Finally where we should be."

I couldn't help the heat that was rushing to my cheeks and the fast pace of my heart, he knew how to make me nervous, he's always known.

"You look absolutely beautiful, by the way," He added, and I could imagine how red my face was getting.

I let out a shaky breath and tried to calm the raging beat of my heart, "You do too," I chuckled, "look handsome, I mean."

The throaty chuckle that escaped his lips was enough to have me in a trance, "Good, I actually put effort into dressing, you know how lazy I can be."

There was a silence after our laughter died down. It wasn't a bad silence, it was an appreciative silence. We stood there and took each other in, our eyes observing every feature of one another in a way a webcam would never allow us to do.

It wasn't until he cleared his throat that a breath taking smile framed his lips, "Care to dance?"

I didn't even have to think about my answer.

"I would love to." I was sure my lips were framed with a smile just as big, or maybe even bigger, than his.

We walked into the throng of people, and situated ourselves in the first clear place we saw.

The song was a slow one, I couldn't put a definite name to it, I was too caught up in the moment to care.

He placed his hands on my waist, and I placed mine on his shoulders. Although my heart was beating thirty times faster than normal, I couldn't help but feel like something was off. It wasn't him, but it wasn't me either. I couldn't put my finger on it, it felt like we were in a position we shouldn't be in, as if I shouldn't be dancing with him. It could be anything though.

"So," he began, "how's life on the road treating you?"

"Not too bad actually," I glanced at him, "The boys have been nothing but nice to me, they're amazing in fact. They've all helped me feel, happy, despite my issues back home, especially Niall."

"I can't believe I haven't actually been all into their music before, they're really good too." I added as an afterthought.

His eyebrows creased and he hummed as if he was focusing a little too much on something, "Any chance you'll end up liking one?"

To say I was surprised was an understatement, I was flabbergasted. I hadn't expected him to ask that, and I hadn't expected me to actually think about it either, the answer should have been an off the bat no.

"No." My voice came out a bit shaky, I obviously wasn't able to keep it steady like I had hoped. Nathan eyed me warily but nodded.

"Good."
