"Dang Lani you always eating something" my mom said to me causing me to pout
"Daddy told me to eat this" I said to her
"Leave my baby alone" my dad said kissing my forehead
"No she's to fat for her age, she need to learn when to stop filling that damn mouth with food."
"She's only 11 kayla she'll grow out of it" my dad said defending me
"When will she grow out of it"
"As she gets older" he said to her
"Maybe if you'll stop feeding her so much we wouldn't have to keep going back and forth about this" she said
"Maybe if you'd stop worrying about MY daughter then I wouldn't have to say something back to you"
My mom scoffed before walking down the hall.
I wiped my tears before pushing the food away.
"Don't worry about her babygirl" my dad said before leaving out the house

5 years later....
"She's so big" I heard as I walked down the hallways of my school
I shook my head and continued walking to my next class.
I knew I was a little over weighed for my age but I never understood why everyone had to point that out about me.
"Hey your name Kay'lani right ?" Jordan asked
I nodded "yea"
"Your mom never tell you when to quit eating" he said aloud causing everyone to laugh
"No for real what do they be feeding you ?" Someone else asked
"Aye y'all need to learn when to grow up... a bunch of 16 year olds acting like y'all 9 " the teacher said
"Can I go to the nurse please" I asked holding my tears back
"Of course, I'll write you a pass"
I gathered my stuff before walking up to her desk.
"Don't let them get to you kay'lani, your beautiful in every way" she said handing me the pass
I grabbed it and walked out the classroom before heading to the nurse office.
"Hello how may I help you" she smiled as I walked in
I sniffled "can I go home, my stomach is hurting"
"Sure, would you like me to call someone for you ?"
"Yes please" I wiped my tears
"Okay just lay down and I'll call someone" she said
I laid down on the couch she had.
"Do you want me to call your mom ?" She asked
I sat up "no. Call my dad"
"Alright"

"So are you gonna tell me what's wrong ?" My dad said as we drove home
"I told you my stomach hurt" I lied
"Lani you my daughter... I know when your lying" He said
"Do you think you can start taking my to the gym" I asked playing with my fingers
"The gym ?"
"Yea"
"Why do you wanna go to the gym ?"
I shrugged " I don't know I just want to"
"What happened Lani"
"People keep making fun of my weight dad" I cried
"Who ?" He asked looking over at me
"People at school and mom. I just want it to stop" I said wiping my tears
"Baby how much times do I have to tell you your beautiful the way you are stop letting these people get to you" he said
"If I'm so beautiful why do I get laughed up Everytime I walk into a room ?" I asked as I began to raise my voice
"Lower your tone Kay'lani" he warned
I shook my head while looking out the window.
He sighed "okay...if you want to start going to the gym we can, but we'll start during the summer when we're both free" he said
"Thank you daddy" I sniffled
"Stop crying baby girl"
