It was a week after the funeral and I hate to say it but I had to get back on the grind.
"I'm bout to drop Yasmine to school and update her emergency contacts and shit" I told Lani as I grabbed my keys off the dresser
After a long week of laying around and sulking, it was time for Yas to go back to school.
The school only gave her a couple days off considering what she was going through & I gave her a couple more days but she couldn't miss anymore.
"Okay I have to go home and get ready for work" she said
"You going back today ?"
"Yup" she said
I nodded "you gonna come back later ?"
She chuckle "you not tired of me ?"
"No" I replied
"I'll be back later. What you want for dinner ?"
"It don't matter to me" I shrugged
She nodded "you okay ?" She asked which caused me to sigh
I was tired of hearing that question.
"Yea" I said looking away
She walked over to me and turned my face towards her.
"It's okay not to be" she said before pecking my lips
I nodded "I gotta go. Make sure you lock up when you leave, have a good day at work" I said before kissing her lips
"Let's go Yas" I said walking out my room
I picked up her book bag "Put the IPad back, you know you can't take that to school" I said causing her to roll her eyes
I sighed and shook my head. Not only has she not been talking but she's also but having a stank ass attitude.
"Let's go" I said opening the door to let her walk out first
It was bout a 30 minute drive from my house to her school, so we were leaving a little earlier than expected.
I got Yas into the car and made sure she buckled up before getting into the drivers seat.
I placed her book bag into the passenger seat before starting the car and pulled off.
I looked through the rear view mirror seeing yas falling asleep which caused me to shake my head.
