Water Lily(Naruto-Shikamaru Fanfic)

Sparring

~time ship to when they introduce themselves because I don't remember how they met Asuma~

We were all standing in a circle in a training field. Asuma-Sensei told us to introduce ourselves.

"My name is Asuma Sarutobi. But you can call me Asuma-Sensei. My likes are sausage and tororo soba. My dislikes are asparagus and getting involved with things unless necessary. My hobbies are playing Shogi." Asuma-Sensei said. Next was Ino's turn.

"My name is Ino Yamanaka. I like flowers and Sasuke. He's so dreamy. My dislikes are Sakura, Naruto, and Taura. My hobbies are picking flowers and running my families flower shop. My dream is to marry Sasuke." Ino informed. I rolled my eyes at her saying she hates me and Naruto.

"I'm Choji Akimichi. I like BBQ and any type of food. I hate being called fat, I'm just chubby. My hobbies are eating. My dream is to try every type of food around the 5 Great Nations."

"This is such a drag. I'm Shikamaru Nara. I like sleeping and cloud watching. I hate being woken up and annoying people. My hobbies are sleeping and watching clouds. My dream is to live unremarkably, free of anything of noticeably good or bad, and then to die just as unremarkably as I've lived." He said and yawned. Now it was my turn.

"My name is Taura Yuhi. My likes are training, cloud/star gazing, ramen, reading, taking walks, shogi, and playing with water. My dislikes are perverts, annoying and ignorant jerks, bullies, fangirls/fanboys. My hobbies are training, playing Shogi, taking walks, reading and playing with water. I don't have a dream." I said. Asuma nodded.

"What do you mean by playing with water?" He asked. I put my palms out and facing up and I gathered water from a nearby stream and started swirling it around my hands.

"I can control water freely without having to use chakra or make hand signs. But if I want to make it stronger I can infuse it with my chakra." I explained. He nodded and seemed intrigued.

"That'll be useful in the future on missions. Now. I want you to spar against each other." Asuma-Sensei said. We nodded and went into the center of the field. I took a defensive position and stared at the others and waited for them to make the first move. Ino charged at Shikamaru and they started sparing while Choji kept jumping out of the way of her hits. I watched as Ino grew irritated with Choji and started yelling at him while kicking and punching him. I took water from the nearby pond and made a barrier around Choji to protect him. Ino turned around and glared at me.

"Let's fight." I said. She seemed shocked but took a kunai out. But before we could fight Asuma-sensei interrupted us.

"Alright. You three go wait on the side. Me and Choji are gonna spar." I followed Shikamaru and Ino to the side and watched Asuma walk towards Choji. "Take down the barrier, Taura." He ordered. I hesitated before doing as he said. I let the water drop to the ground instead of placing it back in the pond. Just in case. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Shikamaru glance at me. "Alright, Choji. If you can't land a hit on me in one hour not just you but everyone will be sent back to the academy."

"WHAT?!" Ino yells. We watch as Asuma-sensei attacks Choji but Choji only blocks.

"He's kind right to his core." I mumble. Shikamaru nods and does the one thing no one should do.

"Guess there's no choice......Choji! Enough already! Fatso!" Shikamaru yelled. My eyes widened but I didn't move. Choji stopped moving and glared at Shikamaru.

"What did you say, Shikamaru?" He growled.

"You heard me! At least that's what I heard Asuma-Sensei call you! Isn't that right, Sensei?" Shikamaru asked. 'Oh I get it! He's trying to piss Choji off so he attacks Sensei!'
