Arlisha’s POV

“Over here Lisha!” Monica called as she stood up in front of the table she was at. I let out a sigh and gave her a weak smile. I was so exhausted. I have already gotten through History, Calculus, English, Nutrition, P.E and Science. It was now lunch and all I wanted to do was go home. Lucky enough for me I had either the Barbie or the jerk in one of all my classes, note the sarcasm please, and they didn’t waste any time irritating me. At least I had Jeremy for History, Calculus, P.E and Science. I also had P.E with Monica and a few of the rest of her gang who I actually started to get along with. But right now I just wanted to eat and have peace because I know going home wasn’t an option right now.
“Let me get my lunch first.” I replied as I pointed to the food lines. She nodded and sat back down. I couldn’t believe all of the food options they had. Chinese food, Subway, Salad Bar, Burger Palace, Pizza Town,  Mexican Food and more. I swear at my old school we had one line with the lunch menu and what it said was what you got. I don’t even know what to choose from.
“Are you lost new girl?” asked an unfamiliar voice from behind me. I turned around to see a boy with a nice caramel complexion and a fade.
“Umm, no I’m just thinking.” I stated. He let out a small laugh.
“I know what you mean; so much to choose from. You should get pizza though.” He said folding his arms over his chest with.
“Why is that?” I asked raising my eyebrow.
“Well because it is some of the best pizza around and that’s where I’m going.” He replied with a sly, confident smile. I couldn’t help but laugh and nod.
“I guess I’m sold.” I said as we walked to the Pizza Town line. It wasn’t that long and the pizza on display did look really nice. I haven’t had pizza and some weeks and now that it’s in front of me I can’t wait to get it.
“Damn girl, you’ll get some. Close your mouth.” The boy said with an amused look on his face. I gasped and hurried up and closed my mouth to save me from more embarrassment.
“Naaw I was only playing.” He stated busting into laughter. I playfully shoved his arm which didn’t even swing or anything making him laugh more.
“Who are you anyway?” I asked rolling my eyes as I moved forward in the line.
“Well if by saying that you’re asking what my name is, then I’m Malcolm. What about you?” He asked.
“My name is Arlisha.” I answered and he nodded.
“Is today your first day Arlisha?”
“Yeah it is. How long have you been here?”
“All my four years of high school. I was born and raised in this town. My dad is a police officer for the city.” He explained right when we got to the front of the line. I smiled in consideration.
“How may I help you?” asked the girl behind the counter. I looked up at the menu to see all the different pizzas and prices. I didn’t want to get anything to fancy but I wanted to be satisfied after I was done.
“Can I get a slice of pepperoni pizza and a salad?” I requested.
“What kind of drink and will that be all?”
“Umm, a Gatorade and yeah.” I said getting out my wallet.
“And for you?” She asked Malcolm.
“I want a pepperoni and sausage calzone with a Dr. Pepper.” He said.
“You guys total will be $8.47.” She said totaling it up and holding her hand out for the money. I took out a five dollar bill to put with a five dollar bill with Malcolm but he just gave the girl a ten dollar bill and told her to keep the change while he grabbed the receipt. I shrugged my shoulders and put the five dollar bill back in my wallet. I guess if that’s what he wanted to do then fine with me.
