Chapter 8 - The Vacation

One month later:

Maya and Carina were walking to the hospital for Maya's checkup, when Maya suddenly said

"Carina, do you think that we should go on a vacation? just by ourselves? no one else?"

"Yes of course bella! but why are you suddenly asking now?" Carina replied

"Welll.. some of the guys at the station said that apart from the accident.. I basically took no days off and I was never ill or unavailable... So I still have quite a lot of personal days saved up...

sooooo instead of them going to waste I thought that we could have a vacation together since we have been through so much together already that I wanted us to have a little getaway you know?"

"Ohhhh bella that is very sweet of you... yes yes yes!! I said this before and i'll say this again! of course I will go on vacation with you!!"

"Yayyy!"

One week later:

Maya was cleared to go back to active duty so they decided to celebrate that fact by packing to go to their vacation..

"Bambina? what time does the flight leave?"

"at 3:50pm and also don't forget to pack your suncream!" 

"Ohhh Bambina! you really haven't been on a proper vacation have you?" 

"What do you mean? I went all over America when I was a kid.."

"But they weren't proper vacations, they were track meets...."

Okay yeah true true... Then I think that yu should teach me how to enjoy myself on a vacation hm? How does that sound?" 

"Yesss! I really should. Oh I can't wait..."

Carina's serious face breaks and she bursts out laughing and so does Maya. The pair are having the time of their lives in this vacation... Both Maya and Carina wish that this can last forever.. The good times between them are the moment that they will remember for life..
