They all went silent, but shared the same thought. The only person Hawkmoth could be... was, "Gabriel Agreste... My father." Adrien breathed. "I know you guys don't want to say it, but it must be him." He added, beads of sweat formed on his forehead as the words came out. "You don't need to feel bad or pity me, I'll admit that it absolutely tears me apart- but we need to take him down. For the safety of Paris."

Marinette looked down. "T-Thank you Adrien, I didn't want to just tell you that and make you think I'm assuming your father is a bad person or anything because I wanted to be considerate of your feelings and- " "No worries m'lady." Adrien's Chat Noir shone through. He grinned. "We need to get those miraculouses! What do I do?"

Marinette looked to the right and nodded (presumably to her kwami) and turned to face the camera. "Tikki says you need to investigate areas of suspicion like his office, and knowing Hawkmo- I mean Gabriel, he would have something like a secret button to hide his lair. If you do happen to find it, I have a plan that I'll send over to you in detail via text later." She concluded. "Are you alright with that?" She turned to Adrien. "Yep!" He chirped. "Well, that's all I wanted to say, so just keep us updated on what happens, aight? I'll even make a group chat for us. Bye!" They ended the call.

Adrien's face fell. "I can't believe my dad is Hawkmoth. All this time I've been fighting my own father? All this time I've been letting someone this close to me hurt innocent people?! If I'd known about this sooner I would have taken him down from the first day!" He brought his knees to his chin and buried is face in his hands.

"But I thought you got over it, you said you didn't care like a minute ago." Plagg pondered. Adrien turned and glared at him. "Well I'm not fine, alright? I just had to act like I was okay because I didn't want Mari to feel bad. She doesn't deserve to be burdened with all my family issues and sadness, I don't want to be the rain cloud that ruins her sunshine." He mindlessly scribbled down the last few words of his homework. "It's okay to be sad y'know. You can't just force yourself to be happy, that's like, the opposite of happiness." The kwami sat on his keyboard and started clawing at a stray pencil.

"Thanks Plagg. You gross me out sometimes but you're a good friend." He pulled a little smile. "Eww. Stop with all the sappy 'I appreciate you' crap, it grosses ME out." He attacked Adrien's papers. "Hey! Stop it- They won't believe me when I say my cat ate my homework!"

Alya's POV

What a week... first I find out Marinette's soulmate is a superhero, then I find out she's ALSO a superhero, and now who said superhero's soulmate who is a superhero is Adrien?!? There's been a super complicated love square going on and I haven't known about it!? Geez-Louise...

Ship Names!!! That's what we need! For Ladybug and Chat Noir... Catbug? Wait no- Ladynoir? Ladynoir! That sounds good. Now we already have Adrienette (me and Nino came up with that whilst we were watching Mari awkwardly interact with Adrien before school one day when we were both late) And for Chat and Mari... Marinoir? Chatnette? That sounds like a chapstick brand- what about MariChat! Yes... and last but not least, LadyAgreste? That sounds too posh. Ladrien! Ladrien, that's the one. I wrote them all down in my notes app under the category 'SHIPNAMES💌'

I am actually so proud of myself for coming up with them, I think I did a pretty good job! Speaking of Adrien... he did look a bit on edge for half the call, and I think I know why.

I appreciate Adrien's effort to seem like everything's okay and that he doesn't mind fighting his own father who is a supervillain, but me and Mari could see right through him. Marinette needs to fix this somehow.

I just hope this all goes according to plan.
