My eyes snapped open.

I was in a different world, a sudden leap through time. Oxygen forcefully entered my system, I gasped for it, begged. I was already sitting up, clenching my chest,

When did I do any of this?

I got up on my own legs and walked around, for the first minute I always have to relearn the skill. I felt the walls and furniture of my room to remember.

I hated being here.

I'm stuck.

I opened the door and got out of my room, past the several doors in the corridor and into the kitchen and living room. My...

I always have to think of what I want to say at the time.

I choose guardians this time.

My guardians were sitting at the kitchen table eating breakfast, she is eating eggs while he is eating buttered toast. He burnt it like always.

How does he manage to do that every time?

There was also too much butter on the toast, if he added cheese instead of all that butter maybe it would taste better... Maybe he added that much just to cancel out the taste of charcoal from the burnt toast.

Just then, I realised I had been staring at my dad eating toast for the past minute.

"You want some Sky?" He inquired while holding out the toast.

My eyes widely opened, "No thank you, I'll buy a chocolate while I'm out." I put a smile.

"Your loss." He shrugged and kept eating.

While my guardians were speaking to each other, I grabbed a glass of water and got on my way to the bedroom so I could get ready for school. Before I left, she reminded me of my lunch resting in the fridge.

I took off my pyjamas and put on the first hoodie I saw in the closet and a simple pair of grey sweatpants. I appreciated my school for letting us dress casually unlike some others which force you to wear a uniform. The first hoodie I found was a black one, similar to most of my other articles in my closet.

After dressing up, I packed my school bag with the books I needed for today.

Why are there two math lessons on a Monday?

While I was packing up, I heard the radio speaking from the living room, as if it was whispering to me.

"Good morning to everyone who is listening," It was the prime minister.

"I sincerely apologise for interrupting your leisurely time but if you may, please allow me to proclaim the future of our Great Country." I could tell what expression he had and his movements just from his loquaciousness.

Get to the point.

"As you may know, ten years ago the Great Devil Attack took place, this calamitous event resulted in hundreds of thousands of deaths. Jobs were lost, families torn apart and most importantly our country was in a depression for 8 years. The Crime rate has been on a constant high rate and there is no sign of improvement on this matter. The previous leaders of this country have all been funding several reconstruction projects such as more hospitals and health services along with residential works but I digress."

"Now that I have been elected as the next prime minister I think that some changes must be made for a safer and more secure future. I believe that ten years ago those Devils attacked for one twisted reason or another, who says that they have not been developing more effective weapons and strategies for another attack? What I am saying is that if our current and future generations are not prepared for future attacks then what is all the point in rebuilding and developing our towns?" I felt everyone's tension from hearing his speech.
