"Hey." I groaned walking up with her.

"Thanks for coming with me so late." She thanked.

"Sure." I said sarcastically.

"I know you don't like these boys, Lia. I didn't want to be alone." She said.

"I understand." I siighed.

We kept talking all the way to Bob's house. Then when we got there no one was in sight.

"Where were we supposed to meet them?"

"Bob's." She recalled.

"Now where?" I asked .

"In town, let's go." She replied.

We ran into town and we didn't find a Mustang or any drunk Socs. It was like a ghost town. Were they on The East Side? Oh no!

"You don't think?" I started.

"Yeah, they're on The East Side." She responded.

Oh no! They are probably beating Greasers to death! Oh my gosh. We ran all the way to The East Side and you could tell it was The East Side. It's not as clean as The West Side and it's really tired-run down looking. Then all of the sudden we ended up at this vacant lot place. What do us know the boys were beating up innocent Greasers.

"Stop it!" The poor Greaser yelled as the Socs kept kicking and punching him.

It was hard to watch. The poor poor Greaser. After a minute or two I had enough. I ran over to the surviving Greaser and I pushed the boys away from him.

"Leave him alone!" I yelled.

I cleaned up the Greasers face which was full of blood.

"Lia! What the hell is going on?" Randy yelled at me.

"Stop beating up this boy guy!" I yelled over him.

"What did he deserve?!" I asked.

"Absolutely nothing I bet! Then why do you do it?!" I yelled.

They were all silent. I know exactly what they were doing. Giving me the silent treatment.

"Get outta here!" I yelled at all of them.

Soon enough after I went back to doctoring the boy up they slowly left me alone with this boy. He looked no more than fifteen.

"Thanks for sticking up for me." He said.

"Oh no problem, I hate that they beat you guys up for no reason." I replied.

"I don't know if I can I fix all these up for you." I winced at his cuts.
"I was walking home from a friend's house. Mine ain't that far from here." He explained.

I helped him up and he directed me towards his house. His arm was around me and I helped him walk because the guys wounded his legs a bit. As we walked down the street we talked. His name was Ponyboy Curtis. Of course I knew his brother Sodapop. He also said he had another brother named Darry. I don't remember them having another brother, but I didn't know them that well.

"Right here." Pony said pointing to his house.

I walked with him there and knocked on the door. I noticed that there were a lot of boys in the small house. The door opened fast.

"Pony! Where have you-," Sodapop paused, "Lia? Lia Russou?"

My parents said they changed our original last name when they came over.

"Hi, how are you?" I smiled at him.

He helped me with Ponyboy.

"Come in!" Soda smiled waving in.

Steve Randle and Two-Bit Mathews were playing poker in their dining room and the TV was playing Mickey Mouse. Those boys looked at me with their jaws wide open, and trying to stop staring at me. I don't know why.

"Pony brought a girl home!" Two-Bit yelled.

"A Soc!" Steve said with disgust.

"But at least she's a nice girl then!" Two-Bit smiled and both the boys laughed.

"Jeez Pony, what'd you do?" Soda asked.

"Darry!" Soda and Pony called.

Then a tall, built, young man with big broad shoulders walked in the room. This must be their older brother! His hair was greased and he had a shirt on that made his muscles look huge! He was just so handsome! So, so cute.

He stopped and looked at me then Pony. His eyes were lost in me, and mine were lost in his.

"Hey." He smiled at us and then went back to staring. (Don't worry I was looking at him the same!)

"Darry?" Ponyboy asked.

He came back to reality and looked at Ponyboy.

"Oh my god, Ponyboy what'd you do? Someone get my first aid kit!" He commanded and lead Ponyboy to the couch while Soda got the first aid kit.

"What happened?" Darry asked fixing up Ponyboy's cuts.

"I kinda was getting jumped, then Lia, came over and helped me." Ponyboy explained.

"Hi, I'm Lia!" I smiled and held out my hand to him.

"I'm Darrel! I haven't seen ya around before." He smiled and shook my hand.

"That's because she's a Soc..." Steve said with Two-Bit next to him in the background creating suspense.

"So what's a Soc doing helping a Greaser?" Sodapop asked me.

"Well if I don't nobody will. Plus I think it's really rude that Soc boys do that to you guys." I explained.

They all understood my point then Darry fixed up Pony then we all talked for awhile. Then it was time for me to leave. I walked home and all I could think about was Darry...
