Nikkō pov:
I took a deep breath, filling my lungs with fresh morning air as I looked up at the clear sky. Today was my first day at karosuno high, which was both my dads old school and volleyball gym. I'd been set on going there ever since my dads told me about there past there and how many connections they made with the team. I didn't know if my new team would have the same connection, but I'm sure we would be friends. "Hurry up dumbass we're gonna be late for our first practice" koshi called, pulling me away from the train of thoughts. Koshi was my best friend and coincidentally, the son of the ace and the libero of my dads' old team. I smiled up at him and sighed inwardly. "Sorry koshi, didn't mean to keep you waiting" I apologised quickly. He smiled at me sympatheticly and raised an eyebrow. "You were stressing weren't you?" He asked "What? No of course not! Just thinking of how our dads were here a few years ago" I replied and started walking with him, our steps syncing together. "Pretty amazing isn't it! I wonder if it's gonna be the same coach as them?" He replied, scratching his head. I shop my head. "I don't think so. Didn't asahi mention something about him leaving when the rest of them left?" I looked at him expectantly and he shrugged. I opened my mouth to say something else, but before I could, koshi gasped. I followed his gaze and my eyes fell upon the gym. The one that our dads once played in. "You ready?" He asked and I nodded confidently. * "Oh good, your finally here! Your late" the coach looked at us as we walked in. He had as blonde hair with grey streaks in, all of it pulled back into a head band. He looked us up and down, eyeing us with a confused look. "Ah, sorry sir, we got lost" koshi replied quickly, bowing. He nodded at us and then turned to another older looking guy with black glasses. They muttered a conversation and I'm pretty sure our first names were mentioned. The coach grunted and looked back at us. "Ok. Just checking you were supposed to be here, although he won't let me see the damn clipboard" he said and looked sideways to the black haired guy. "I'm coach ukai and this is takada, one of the teams managers" I looked at koshi with a smiled and wide eyes. He didn't even have to say anything to know what I was implying. It was the same coach as our fathers. Koshi opened his mouth to say something about it, but a slight shake of the team managers head stopped him. "Ok so there's one more 1st year here. Go ahead and introduce yourselves to the rest of the team and then we'll start practice" the coach said and went back to the bench to observe. We walked over to the others, standing and talking to everyone and introducing ourselves. Suddenly, someone came bouncing over to us. "Hey are you also first years??" He said, smile spread across his face. We nodded slowly. "Great! I'm hakuū suga" Me and koshi exchanged glances and grinned happily. "Hi I'm tokudo hinata and this is minakoshi nishinoya" I replied and watched with a grin as his eyes widened in excitement. "Oh. My. God! Who new we were all gonna end up in the same place!?" He whisper shouted. "All our dads went here isnt that amazing!" "Aha yea it really is" koshi replied and smiled his warm smile. * * "ok first years? This is your time to shine! Show us what you got!" Coach ukai shouted "hamine, you serve over the net, and then well see what are first years have" It went smoothly, me koshi and hakuū took turns setting it and spiking it until I heard the coach say something about the quick attack my dads used to do. I think koshi heard it too because he raised his eyebrow and shifted his eyes to the right slightly 'let's do it now' he signalled. Back over the summer, we had practiced really hard with my parents to master there quick attack and it was going well, we had that, and the signals almost perfect. Without saying another word, koshi saw the ball coming towards me. "Nikkō! Watch out!" He yelled and I snapped out of my thought, quickly hitting the ball up high. He nodded at me and kept his eyes on where I was going. I took a deep breath and speed around him, jumped up high and hit the ball with as much force as I could muster. I opened my eyes and saw that the ball had hit the floor . "HELL YEA THAT WAS AMAZING NIKKŌ" koshi yelled, high-fiving me. "Holy shit" we heard someone say and we turned around to see the coach staring open mouthed and wide eyed at us. Holding the clipboard.
Coach ukai's pov: I was sitting there analysing the first years and how well they were doing, when I heard takada sigh next to me. "You good?" I asked and he nodded. "I wonder if these first years will do the quick attack" he wondered aloud. "I don't think so. The only poeple we've seen who were able to pull it off were hinata and kageyama." Coach said sternly. Takada saw the 2 first years listening to the convo and looking at eachother. He realised what they were gonna do and grabbed his clipboard. "Before you say anything else, you might wanna look at this" he said, circling the 2 names before handing it to the coach. He read it and his eyes widened. "Kudo look out!" He heard the first year shout and looked up as he set the ball. He watched with wide eyes as the other first year ran up and soared through the air, hitting the ball with a great force, to the other side. Without realising it, he was in his feet, his breathing heavy. "Holy shit" he said eyes wide.
Hinatas pov: "Come on tobio, hurry up practice is almost over and we promised to walk them home" he bounced in his step as he pulled his husband along with him. "Geez shoyo slow down! I'm as excited as you are too but you just gotta slow down" kageyama replied smiling at me. Another 10 minutes of pulling kageyama along the path, and we had reached the gym. I took a deep breath and let all the memories flood back. The sound of volley balls hitting the floor and shoes squeaking filled my ears and I smiled. I felt an arm around my shoulder, pulling me out of my thoughts. "I feel the same" kageyama said and kisses my head. "I'm just gonna head to the vending machine, go in without me" "Ok cya in 5" I beamed and watched as he walked off. I sighed and smiled back at the gym, about to go into another train of thought, before a familiar name drew me out of it. "Kudo look out!" Curiosity peaked and I walked up to the door, watching in anticipation as my son and his best friend, worked together just like they had practiced over the summer. I smiled wide and proud as I watched them high-five eachother. "Holy shit" I heard a voice say. I turned my head and was surprised to see coach ukai. He was standing there, holding the clipboard and staring at them with wide eyes. 'He probably didn't know there last names' I thought and laughed slightly. I clapped my hands and laughed lightly. "That's my boy" I said and all eyes turned to me. "Dad! You came!" Kudo beamed and koshi waved. "Hey shoyo" "Hi koshi" "Hinata?" I turned to see the coach looking at me in disbelief. I grinned. "Hey coach :) long time no see?" I replied and walked over to him. Before I could even say anything, he pulled me in for a hug. "Oh...I missed you too" "How have you been?" He asked as he broke the hug. "I've been great! Obviously I have kids. 2 actually, twins." I replied happily. He smiled. "What about kageyama? How is he?" He asked questioningly. I grinned and looked behind me to see my husband walking in. "Ask him yourself!" "Kageyama?" Coach said and he looked up from his phone, his mouth falling open in surprise to see Him still here. The coach smiled and opened his arms, which kageyama didn't hesitate to run into, hugging him tightly. "Omg coach it's been so long!" He cried happily A few minutes later like, 10 minutes later, we had been chatting and watching as the team played a practice game. The ball was served and then the team on the left hit it up, set it and then spiked it. I watched as the ball went back up, but this time, when they spiked it, it went so fast that no one could have gotten to it in time. Or so I thought. All in a flash of black and green, someone came and hit the ball up. "rrrrrrrrolling thunder!" I heard the green and black flash say and I grinned as I realised who it was. The ball flew back up into the air and hit the floor on the other side. "You know you didn't have to interrupt the game babe" a deep voice said, coming from the door. Heads turned around and I looked to see asahi standing there and beaming at us. Noya jumped up and poured. "That was awesome dad!" Koshi yelled happily and noya gave him finger guns.
"I don't think awesome is the best word to describe it" another voice from behind us said. I grinned even more because I new that voice all to well. "Suga!!" I yelled and ran over to hug him. "Hey there hinata long time no see" he replied. "Just as energetic as always I see" daichi laughed from behind suga. I beamed and let go go suga to go hug daichi. "Hey there short stack" "Oh lord I must be dreaming" coach ukai said and rubbed his forehead. He almost lost his cool when he saw tsukkishima, yamaguchi and tanaka walk in. "Tsukki?! Yamaguchi?! I thought your kid didn't go here!" Noya pointed out quickly. "She doesn't, she goes to nekoma" tsukki replied coldly "Yea, but we heard that most of you were gonna be here so we decided to join! Couldn't miss a team ruinion!" Yamaguchi beamed at us. I looked around at all of them and smiled. "Hey!" Miso shouted from across the room. "I have an idea! Seeing as all your old team is back, why don't we do new team against old team?" "That's not half bad kid" ukai replied and looked at us. "You guys remember the places?" We all nodded and headed to our spots. Everyone playing the spots that we used to play. It felt amazing, playing in the gym again. Just like old times... - - I wrote this the day after my last day at highschool lmfao. Totally wasn't missing it or anything 😙 Anyways I hope you liked this! Sorry for any spelling errors :)
