"Kind of empty for a park." I mused, rocking myself back and forth on the rusty swings as Blade pushed the back of it to make me go higher in the air.

"Yeah.. Hey, Jamie?" Blade asked, stopping the swing abruptly.

Okay, this is weird. I think something's wrong with Blade. He's been acting so weird lately.. It's just.. I can't explain it.

"Yeah?" I asked, jumping off of the swing and spinning on my heel to face him.

"I know." He sighed.

"You know what?" I asked dumbly. Please don't say what I think you're gonna say Blade.. Please..

"I know how your mom treats you. And that is why you go out with me drinking almost every night. Jamie, it isn't right." He sighed as my face fell.

He said what I thought he was gonna say.

"It'll be okay, Blade. I can handle it. She's got better than from what she was before. But.. Hey.. What happened last night at the club?" I asked, intrigued and trying to change the subject.

Fall for it.. Come on.. Fall for it..

"You, uh.. You.." He stuttered.

"Spit it out, man!"

"You.. Alright fine. You kissed me."

What? Wait.. Wait.. What?! No, no, no, no,no. I probably ruined our friendship.

"Oh my god, Blade! I'm so sorry! I didn't even realize and I-" I started, but was stopped when Blade put his finger on my lips. Ew.

"Sh. It's okay. I mean, I'm talking to you now aren't I?" He smirked evilly but jumped back when I licked his finger.

"Ew! Did you just-? Oh my god." Blade cried, wiping his finger on his hoodie.

Serves him right.

"Sorry.. I can't go back there you know, Blade." I murmured sheepishly, scuffing my converses on the ground.

"I know. But with this murderer about, you need to." He stressed, looking at me urgently.

"Promise me, Jamie. Promise you won't do anything stupid. You're my best friend, I don't wanna lose you." Blade continued, grasping my hand in his cold one and staring me in the eyes.

"I promise, Blade. I give you my word." I smiled, prying my hand away from his.

And yes, I'm a teenager and I just talked as if I was from the Eighteenth Century. I'm a lover of the arts, sue me! And then there's the fact I sometimes feel as if I used to live in times like that, sometimes random facts from history will just pop in my head without me ever knowing them before. Sometimes it gets pretty scary. I'm always paranoid that it's something supernatural or paranormal.. But that's not gonna be real. Not to me.

I mean, I know it exists, but I'm just.. Doubtful as to it happening around me. And I only believe in it thanks to my Parapsychology course.

"Hey! Race around the park?" I cheered, grinning madly and jetting off around the various benches littered around the park as I heard Blade's heavy footsteps behind me.

"No fair! You're cheating!" Blade shouted as I chuckled.

Unfortunately, that caused me to not look where I was going and I tripped around the leg of the bench and started flying forwards.

Instinctively my hands flew in front of my face and I winced as I hit the ground.

Well this is gonna hurt like a fudgenugget in the morning.
