Warning: It gets kind of gruesome. When it gets to said parts I'll put hashtags so you know when it starts and finishes. Just incase any of you are queasy.

Third Person P.O.V

Jamie was running, hiding, running and hiding. In a vicious cycle.

She couldn't get away, the thoughts of vampires running through her mind.

Thoughts of Laurence, a skinwalker, her mother, a werewolf and thoughts of the fact that maybe, just maybe, all of the creatures in the stories are real.

Meanwhile, not far away from where Jamie actually is. Blade and Laurence were running frantic trying to find her.

Find her before the curse engulfs her in darkness.

Which, by the way, is soon. Soon being just a mere few hours from now. Maybe less.

The two boys were beginning to lose hope, after all, it's almost over. Women never manage to finish the transformation into a werewolf, only a rare few, like her mother. It only happens once in a family tree, apparently. So in the eyes of everybody, Jamie was lost.

And if a female did manage to transform completely, then they were killed, but Marcus found Meredith and protected her. Just like he would have done with Jamie, and like he couldn't do for Sera.

By now Jamie was sitting in the corner of an alleyway behind a bar called Johnny's in the freezing cold. Across the street and a few blocks down, outside a pharmacy, were Laurence and Blade, not realizing just how near they were.

Jamie's P.O.V

I didn't even know where I was anymore. It's dark by now, I couldn't see a thing.

The wall was wet and covered in cobwebs, it smelt like a sulphur pit, and I'm sure there were rats somewhere around here. But I just don't know.

Maybe I shouldn't have run away... No. Running was a good thing. Running was the best thing. Sure, I like vampires, I've admired them. But I don't want to be one! What is going through Blade's mind? I'd rather die than drink an innocent persons' blood!

I leant against the cold stone wall and slid down it, hugging my skeletal knees to my chest.

I heard that noise again, like a rat scuttling across the ground. Raising my head, I looked around only to see nothing, but of course, it was dark.

That's when I felt what seemed to be like, well, a rat running up my arm, it's feet sending chills down my spine. "What the frack?!" I jumped up and speed-walked towards the end of the alleyway, towards the road.

I looked around my surroundings slowly, scanning everything. The streets were, unfourtunately, brightly lit. But there weren't many people around, most were in cars that are speeding by like flashes, definitely over the speed limit then.

Tentatively, I stepped out of the alleyway slightly, looking around with wide eyes and hoping not to run into Laurence or Blade. Thankfully, I couldn't see them all. But that could be because my eyesight was a little fuzzy.

I shook my head and stepped out of the alleyway, speed-walking towards a brightly lit building, the sign I couldn't make out. I couldn't shake the feeling of being followed though, and the sounds of voices running through my ears. I started walking faster, and couldn't even utter out a scream when I felt warm arms encircle me from behind, the feeling of rats walking over me was everywhere even still and I started thrashing to get free.

I could hear voices shouting, but I couldn't make them out at all. Everything just blurred and mixed together. With the rat feeling ever present. But that's when I realized, there aren't any rats crawling over me. So what is happening? Am I dying?

The arms that were holding me suddenly enveloped me and picked me up and I felt myself being held tightly against a warm chest. I found the energy to mutter, "What's going on?" though I never heard the answer.

##

Then I heard something, a crack, and searing pain shot through my arm. Agonizingly slowly all my bones started to break , and I collapsed to the floor in sobs. This was worse than what Eric put me through. So much worse. "What's happening to me?" I managed to gasp out, tears relentlessly falling down my cheeks.

Then I felt it. Then I realized. My bones weren't just breaking. They were bending and moulding into another form. I could feel my skin loosening and falling off my body in various sized clumps, my nails dropped off too. Then one by one my teeth simply fell loose. I was still in my clothes, though, so there were pieces of skin sticking to them. And oh God, it hurts.

As my skin fell off, short firetruck red hairs of fur were being revealed. Though they had crimson splatters from my blood.

I felt something on my hands, claws. An animalistic howl ripped through my body and I ripped my clothes off, including the underwear. There was no point keeping them on, I was practically a crawling mass of muscle, veins, and fur. All I could think was pain. Agonizing pain. Excruciating pain. End it all!

My hair had only just started falling away, then as if enough hasn't happened, my eyes quite literally popped out! They fell and landed in a puddle.

I could feel my body changing, hell, I could see my reaction in the same puddle occupying my eyes. I didn't have ordinary human eyes anymore. Now they were a bright, blistering hazel, splattered with shiny gold and emerald green and clouded by hunger. Animal eyes. Wolf eyes.

My hands and feet had broken and moulded into paws. My face had seemed to grow extra bones and it formed a muzzle, the skin on my face literally being pulled off. My back felt like it was splitting in two as the bones changed, and then finally, the pain stopped. It just stopped like a click of fingers.

##

I shook my body, blood flying off it and surrounding the ground around me. For the first time I looked around, wondering where I was. I was in the woods, for starters. Surrounded by people. I saw Laurence looking horrified, Blade with a smirk on his face, my mother... my poor mother. She looked upset and proud at the same time. Proud that I survived, but then she was upset at something behind me. The way her eyes locked and her jaw set, it couldn't be good.

I spun around and ended up being faced with a tall man. He had highlighted blonde hair and... purple eyes. He was sporting an Armani suit and had a stocky build. He didn't look nice, that's for sure.

"Hello, Jamie," he drawled, looking at me with lust. Wait, lust? What does this guy want from me? Is being a wolf some kind of kink for him? "My name is Marcus."

I tried to ask him if he'd protect me, but all that left me was a demanding whine. Marcus seemed to understand though, because he replied easily. "Oh, sweetheart. I'm not going to protect you. I already did that for your mother. I'm going to kill you."

##

My mother cried out but Blade held her back from doing anything. Then he lifted his hand, weirdly holding a needle, and injected something into her. Probably to stop her from turning.

I growled and bounded towards Marcus. I knew Blade wouldn't try and stop me, he may be helping to kill me, but he does care about me.

I pounced onto Marcus and before he could do anything I snapped my jaws around his throat and pulled. The metallic taste of his blood filled my jaws, but I didn't care. I didn't spit it out. I savored it, even. I ripped my head away from him, his throat still in between my teeth.

##

I spat it out and walked over to my shocked mother, nuzzling my head into her side. It should be surprising that I could reach that high, but I was a werewolf now, bigger than any ordinary wolf.

"You're alive..." Laurence breathed, making my head snap towards him. "You're alive," he said, standing next to the now knocked out body of Blade.

I whined in response. I wasn't alive. I was a werewolf.
