harry potter's arrival
( NUMBER 12 GRIMMAULD PLACE 1995 )

*·˚ HYDRA GREY HAD lost all of her interest the moment Harry Potter's name had poured out of Sirius's mouth. In all honesty, she was beyond hungry, and she wasn't too fond of the fact that their dinner had been pushed back, and that he was the sole purpose of it.

"I don't get it," Hydra mutters, "Why do we need to wait for him to have dinner; I mean, it's not like it's some sort of a 'Congrats on getting expelled!' dinner. Right?"

Cassie chuckles at Hydra's comment, "We don't even know what he was expelled for."

"And that is exactly why you're dragging me to see his best friends?"

"What a genius you are!" Cassie gasps in faux surprise.

Crossing the dingy landing, they stopped at a door. Hydra glanced over at Cassie, who had been switching her weight from one foot to the other. Hydra frowns at her friend before whispering, "Well aren't you going to knock?"

"I was hoping you would do that."

Hydra left her mouth slightly agape, "What? You were the one to drag me with you!"

"Yes!" Cassie agrees, nodding her head vigorously, "With the hope that you would knock."

"I'm not knocking." Hydra retorts with her hand folded at her chest, eyebrows furrowing.

Cassie stares at her, rather pleadingly, and Hydra did not budge. Huffing, and cursing under her own breath, Cassie hesitantly knocks on the door before quickly running behind Hydra and muttering, "I absolutely despise your guts."

"You're a year older than me," Hydra scoffs teasingly, "You're supposed to save me from the horrors of door knocking."

"I'm trying to mentor you then." Cassie snaps back.

Hydra opens her mouth for another witty response, though, her words fumble the moment she caught sight of the doorknob which (as far as she could make out from the corner of her eye) was shaped like a serpent's head, began to turn, and the door creaked open.

A girl, Hermione Granger, emerged from the narrow fissure of the door. Hydra had shared her dorm room with her for years, but it was only now that she had genuinely spoken to her about something other than homework or exams (which, to the courtesy of Harry Potter, always seemed to get cancelled).

"Oh," She breathes, looking rather disappointed at the sight of the two, before glancing over at Hydra, "Hydra, is it? We share a dorm."

"Yeah," she nods, "Yeah, we do. You're Hermione?"
