( NUMBER 12 GRIMMAULD PLACE 1995 )
༊*·˚ DINNER WAS NOT pleasant in the least. Cassie had made it explicitly clear that she was no longer going to even try to converse with her uncle. She thinks, to spite him, that she'll chat up his (and Sirius would absolutely kill her if Cassie said this to him) only best friend left, were her exact words.
And Hydra was not stupid. Her mother's sidelong glances at Lupin as he tried to explain 'surgery' to Cassie without making her completely freak out were not exactly subtle. Neither was Lupin's glances towards Hydra's mother. Despite the fact that she was in 12 Grimmauld's place, the food was better than she was used to —having parents who are Aurors is never convenient— she did not enjoy her father's stern gaze towards Lupin when she could have been enjoying a perfectly well-cooked supper peacefully. In her third year of Hogwarts, it had been very clear to her, that Lupin (who was teaching at the time) and her mum had known each other during their years at Hogwarts. She had asked her mum about it, and all she could answer was a simple 'yeah, we knew eachother'. She had learned however that the heart doesn't lie, because as her mum had uttered those words, Hydra could feel her mother's heart pour out of her chest almost like she had been shot, as blood oozed from her eyes, ears and mouth — but she sat straight, a tight-lipped smile danced on her lips where a playful smirk would usually be as she spoke:
"He was a dear friend of mine, Remus. I hope he's doing alright"
She loved him — or maybe she still did. But Hydra knew well of pure-blood traditions. It was Amelia's fate, that the one she loves, would never be hers. A foul being, fate — seems to run in the family, Hydra thinks bitterly.
To her surprise, her parents both didn't bring up what Dumbledore had said to her earlier this morning. She didn't really know what she expected for Amelia had made it clear that she did not want to talk about what her ancestors had tainted upon the blood of her only child, and Dolion despised even the slight mention of what his daughter was capable of ever since Hydra had let her fingers graze a flower as it began to wilt and rot before she began to wail at the action and scream when her father had tried to hold her hand when she was four. Instead, most conversation over dinner consisted of Tonks and her aunt Mia fooling around with Ginny as Tonks changed the shape of her nose to different types of animals and let her hair change in various shades of colours.
