Lana Del Rey x Marina Diamandis
Word Count: 2,205
Marina's POV
I looked on as Lana's supposed friend touched her leg a little too long for the 5th time. We were having brunch with two of Lana's friends and so far, for me, it has not been enjoyable. Her other friend has been trying to make small talk with me the entire time, and I talked to her here and there, but once Lana and her friend started to flirt with no regard, I simply stopped talking to her other friend. She finally took the hint after a while.
"Babe, I think we should get going, we've been here for almost 2 hours. We're done with our food and people are waiting in line."
She looked over to me after she stopped laughing at some cheesy, no-good joke that her friend made. She checked her phone to see the time, and realized I made a valid point.
"Damn, we really should get going. This has been fun! Thank you for joining us."
She gave both of her friends hugs and kisses on the cheek, but lingered a little more on one than the other. I smiled tightly at them and said my goodbyes, grabbing Lana's hand and walking quickly out of the café.
"Slow down baby, what's the rush?"
She chuckled as she said it, which brought me closer to my breaking point.
"Nothing. Let's just get home."
She looked at me like she didn't believe a word I said, which was fair, but let me drag her home. We went to a café that was within walking distance of our apartment.
Once we got home, I plopped down on the couch after I took off my shoes. She came over to me, a confused look on her face, and sat down next to me, trying to rub my arm, but I pulled away from her touch.
"What is it baby? Why are you all.. distancy?"
"I can't believe you right now. You know exactly what it is."
I huffed in annoyance and crossed my arms, looking in front of me at the coffee table. I felt her shift into her knees, facing me more fully now.
"I really don't know what it is. Mind telling me?"
I rolled my eyes.
"I didn't know friends flirted with each other."
I looked at her and she gasped in what seemed to be disbelief. Then, she rolled her eyes.
"That's what this is all about? Really Marina? She's my friend! Nothing more, you know that."
"It sure seems like more, from how much you were touching each other. And don't tell me they were friendly touches, no friends touch each other for that long, do they?"
"Baby, it was simple banter! It wasn't flirting."
She didn't directly answer my question, which just further confirmed that she was flirting. I scoffed and got up from the couch, walking into our room. I heard her behind me, not ready to give up quite yet.
"Baby, I wouldn't do anything like that around you. I love you."
"So if I wasn't there, you would've done it more? Is that what you're saying?"
She sighed, frustrated, and came over to me.
"No, I wouldn't do it at all. You're the only person I'll do that with."
"Doesn't seem like I'm the only one anymore, does it?"
"Okay, you're acting childish, you obviously won't be reasoned with right now. Once you're done sulking, come talk to me in the living room, okay?"
