Mission impossible

Chase's POV

As you all emerge into the city, so many emotions fill your eyes. 'Why is y/n acting this way?' 'Why is she so jealous?' 'How did Reese stumble into Mission Command?' 'Why does y/n not like Reese?' 'Why does my own sister believe her?' 'I hope everyone is alright and no one is severely hurt?' 'I miss Reese.' You shake your head and try to focus on the task at hand: saving the city, then getting back to your new girlfriend. "Roman and Riker trashed the entire city" Oliver looks around in disbelief as you hear sirens all around and citizens screaming in fear. "Yeah, yeah, quit yapping and let's find them already so I can get back to Reese" you sigh. Y/n's eyes grow angry and she shakes her head before she roll her eyes. Bree looks at her with sadness and annoyance in her eyes. "You barely even-" Kaz starts, shrugging. "We. Are. Dating!" you shout in frustration. Y/n raises an eyebrow also in annoyance. "Yeah, Chase, because you getting back to your CRAZY girlfriend should be everyone's top priority right now" she shakes her head like you're an idiot. You look at her just how an annoyed brother would look at his sister. "Actually, it should be, it may never happen again" she shrugs, still showing her mocking sibling side towards you. Y/n looks at her, offended. Bree's face practically says "sorry" with a giggle. You roll your eyes once more. Dylan and Zoey even giggle with each other at that one. "She's not wrong" Zoey says. You look at them annoyed. Kaz's ears practically perk. "Guys, I hear the swarm. Get ready!" he shouts and you all take a stance like you're ready to fight. "It sounds like they're coming from every direction" Skylar starts, everyone looking around. "Well then where are they?" Mason asks. A swarm chases after a man and he goes flying in the air, screaming. Everyone drops their stance. "Uhh. Found them" Kaz says. He, Oliver, Dylan and Zoey go after the swarm. You and y/n accidentally make eye contact and it feels like a mixture of love, anger, betrayal, even some confusion in there, even if it's only for a split second. After Kaz, Oliver, Dylan and Zoey go fight the swarm, they come back to the group out of breath. Before they can even say anything, the sound of the swarm floods their eyes once more. Everyone starts looking around, trying to see where they are. "Look, they're all bonding together!" Skylar points. Your eyes widen a bit as fear takes over. "Everyone take cover!" You yell and everyone huddles together. You activate your force field to protect everyone around you, including yourself, and the swarm blasts you. In an instant, everyone hits the ground, groaning in pain.

~ Little scene change to the penthouse ~

Reese's POV

You and Douglas are sitting on the couch, very awkwardly. He tries to make some conversation with you. "So... Chip and Dixie say there's a new panda at the zoo" he smiles. You just want this over with so you can go back to mission command. "You know, we can just sit in silence, if you want" you smile. "Oh, thank you!" he sits back in relief. It almost becomes more awkward after that. "I'm gonna go see if I can turn on the generator on the roof to get some light in here" he starts to rise up and you nod in agreement. He walks out the door of the penthouse and the door closes behind him. Your smile fades back to a straight face and you get up, heading back to the elevator door. "Now let's finish what they started. Stupid brothers" you roll your eyes. "Idiots" you finish. "Hyperlift, open" you command once again and smirk as the doors open one again. You walk in and in a flash, are underground again. You step out into mission command. A relieved and satisfied exhale makes it way out of you as you walk to the main console in the middle of the room. "Now, where was I..." you trail off, trying to concentrate, taking your glasses off and squinting. You see the lights come up and look up, being taken off your thinking track and you get a bit nervous that the generator worked, but try to just focus on the task at hand so you can get out as soon as possible. "Where is it?" You whisper yell in frustration, swiping constantly to the left looking for the list. You smirk and your eyes drop eerily. "Ah, there it is. Got it" You sigh with a smirk. You click on a button and hear the computer beeping. "Come on! Hurry up and download!" You whisper through gritted teeth. Before you have a chance to look at it for more than a second, the doors behind you open and your eyes widen in fear. You slowly turn around and see Douglas. "Reese?" You turn all the way around. "What are you doing?" He finishes. You start to panic. "I- I was just looking for a good Wi-Fi connection" you panic more. "How did you even know this was down here?" He asks, getting suspicious. You look at the console in fear. Everything clicks for him. "That's the superhero list. What are you up to?" He asks, catching on and running up to you. You freeze and shapeshift into a fireball, then push him to the wall, causing him to crash. He's frozen in fear and you seize the opportunity to grab the flash drive for the list. "Why?" He asks so innocently. "Just completing a mission my dumb brothers couldn't," you smirk. "Wait, so you're?" he starts. "Yep. Roman and Rikers sister. Their more powerful sister," You say as if it were in Broadway lights. A white and bright light shoots out of your fingers as you blast Douglas' eyes and causes him to scream in pain. Groaning, he falls to the floor. You walk over to him, all the fear leaving you. You lean over him with the upper hand. "Did you feel a burn?" an evil chuckle makes it way out of you. "When you come to, you'll have a permanent reminder of what kind of power you're really dealing with" you snarl with a mischievous nod. With one more groan making its way out of Douglas, you rise up, make your way to the elevator, and it takes you back up. In a flash, you are gone with the list.
